IntroductionIn response to the initiative of Her Highness Sheikha
Fatima Bint Mubarak, may God preserve her, Chairperson of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairperson of the
Family Development Foundation and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, stemmed the idea of
launching a special award to the family, with a view to enhance the values of cohesion and family bonding in the UAE community.
Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award «Usrat Al-Dar» belongs to the Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Program for Innovation and Community Excellence, which oversees all the awards bearing the name of Her Highness. The program prepares prizes’ action plans and a program cycle for each award, in addition to preparing the relevant budgets and submitting the same to the Supreme awards committees for approval. Further, the program coordinates between the committees and the relevant authorities in respect of all phases of each award separately, starting from the launch phase till the closing ceremony.
«Usrat Al-Dar» Award of Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak is a local annual award directed to families and individuals, as well to the institutions and organizations that provide or support family and community
projects.

Award MissionEncouraging families to effectively contribute in building a cohesive and
close-knit community and urging them to participate in the services and initiatives offered by the Family Development Foundation and the services
and initiatives of the governmental agencies in the United Arab Emirates, in addition to benefitting from the research and studies, projects and initiatives carried out by supporters who are interested in family issues and motivating the scientific research institutions, bodies, institutions and individuals from the governmental, semi-governmental and private sectors to support the family, enabling them to work on its sustainability.
Award Objectives1. Highlighting the sound family practices, through honoring the families of positive impact in society, in general, and in its groups, in particular.
2. Honoring the families whose members participate in community services, in general, and in the Foundation’s services, in particular.
3. Encouraging the institutions and governmental, quasi-governmental and private agencies to support and adopt initiatives dealing with family affairs to ensure its stability.
4. Encouraging and motivating institutions and individual initiatives in the field of community development through their effective and active contribution in community service and their positive roles in family issues.

Award StructureSheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award, «Usrat Al-Dar»,
works through several committees:
First: Supreme CommitteeThis committee oversees the work of the Award, develops its policies,
adopts its development plan in coordination with the concerned authorities inside and outside the Foundation, adopts the annual budget proposed by
the Award Office’s, determines the aspects of exchange on the activities and programs of the Award in accordance with the approved budget, approves the Award’s assessors and arbitrators, adopts the Award’s annual developmental plan, approves the final results of the winners for the final adoption and certification of the results by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, may God protect her, and adopts a proposal for the closing ceremony of the Award and the Best Practices Conference for the winners, The Supreme Committee consists of:

Second: The JuryA Committee dedicated to Award arbitration and winners’
selection, which members are being selected based on criteria determined by the Supreme Committee of the Award.
Third: The Technical CommitteeThe Technical Committee reviews the Award criteria and updates them to ensure the applications’ meeting the required conditions, in addition to developing the guidelines for the evaluation team and the jury, in line with the changes deemed suitable by the Committee, which examines all the proposals received by the Office of the Award.
Fourth: The Evaluation TeamA specialized team dedicated to evaluate candidacy applications, which members are being selected based on criteria specified by the Supreme Committee of the Award. The team is divided into several sub-teams by the various award categories.
Fifth: Promotion TeamThe mission of this team is to promote for the Award inside the UAE using motivational and attractive means that encourage the families and urge
individuals and institutions to run for the Award categories.

Award Phases
Launch Phase: This phase includes the launch of the new session of the Award, either during a press conference
or through an intensive campaign in the local media and social networking sites.
Promotion Phase: The promotion includes organizing campaigns to publicize the award, the criteria of evaluation, participating thereof and
its adopted schedule with a view to attract candidates and sponsors.
Nomination Phase: This phase begins from the date of starting the nomination for the awards and receipt of requests from the parties and individuals who wish to apply.
Sorting Phase: This phase includes screening the applications to ensure they meet all conditions, preparing a list of candidates and sending the same to the evaluation team.
Evaluation Phase: This phase includes reviewing the candidacy applications by the Evaluation Team individually, to be evaluated afterwards by all team members, in order to determine the final lists of candidates, to be presented to the jury.
Arbitration Phase: This phase includes reviewing the final lists of candidates by the jury, with a view to determine the winners and
issue the final results to the Supreme Committee of the Award.
Approval Phase: This phase includes the approval of the Supreme Committee of the winners to be adopted by Her Highness the Supreme President of the Foundation.
Ceremony Phase: At this phase, a ceremony is being organized to announce the final results and honor the Award winners in the categories of individuals, families and institutions.

1. Model Family Category:A Model Family is an extended, well-knit, educated and stable
family that preserving its national identity and heritage, in addition to its being socially responsible.
Award's Conditions:
The family should be nominated by the UAE population.The nominated family, or some of its members, should have participated in the Family Development Foundation Services or the services of the social responsibility institutions in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi services.The family should be caring about social responsibility.The family is eligible to run only for one category of the Award.

2. Outstanding Emerging Family Category:
An emerging family is a newly formed family (no more than three years since its inception), provided being an
educated and stable family, preserving its national identity and heritage, in addition to being socially responsible.
Award's Conditions:
The family is resident in the United Arab Emirates.The family is formed for more than two years and less than three years at the
date of applying.To have participated in the Family Development Foundation services.Should have community initiatives or projects.The family is eligible to run only for one category of the Award.
The Award:
Number of winning families: Two families.A financial reward of AED 100,000 for each winning family.Category Shield.

United Arab Emirates, including two subcategories: 1. Grandfather - Grandmother.
2. Husband/Father - Wife/Mother.
Award's Conditions:
The candidate should be a UAE resident.The candidate should have contributions supportive to community development.Any family member may nominate any member who meets the conditions specified to this category.The individual is eligible to run only for one category of the Award.

4. Leading Social Initiative Category:This category is dedicated to the community initiatives
carried out by a family or an individual thereof, or by individuals who belong to several families, with a view to benefit the community,
provided that the initiative has affected the local or Arab community positively.
Award's Conditions:
Two initiatives are selected by the Award Office and then submitted to the Assessment Team.The candidate family or group should be a UAE or Arab nationals resident in the United Arab Emirates.The initiative should serve the UAE community.The initiative should be an in-kind initiative that enhances the orientations of the government.

6. Family Issues Supportive Figure:This category aims to honor the figures supporting family
issues and in each session of the Award, H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, may God protect her, selects two persons who
contributed to supporting the family and family issues.
The Award:
Badge of Honor of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Award for «Usrat Al-Dar».
Terms and ConditionsThe Office of the Award may exclude any application that is
not compatible with the Award›s vision, mission, objectives, terms and conditions.
Those willing to run for the Award; individuals and institutions, shall complete the candidacy applications available on the Website of the
