From The Desk of Our Pastor Dear Friends,

Holy Week and Easter was certainly a grace-filled time for St. Joseph Parish. I want to thank Jeff Marani and all of the musicians and singers who provided a wonderful musical program for the many liturgies. Thank you to Stephanie Joubert, Jim Joubert, Charlie Comeau, Ashley Lyons, and Deb Woodbury whose floral and altar decorations made our church look so beautiful. In addition, special thanks to Olivia Colombo for designing and painting our beautiful Easter banners. Of course, I want to thank my staff who went beyond the call of duty in making sure that all of the details of Holy Week and Easter were taken care of. To the Ushers, Altar Servers, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, a special thank you. Finally, a special thank you to Cass Healy and Ruth Finn, for making sure the annual Easter Egg Hunt took place. About 300 kids had a ball.

I want to welcome Deacon Christopher Scott Koehn, from the Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina as our parish Deacon. Chris is studying at Pope St. John XXIII Seminary in Weston and will be spending the weekends at St. Joseph Parish starting in September. I know that you join me in extending a warm welcome to Deacon Chris.

I have been interviewing candidates for the position of Parochial Vicar (second priest). When a decision is made I will let you all know. If the Archdiocese assigns us a Parochial Vicar, the start date is June 1. Happy Easter, Fr. Wally

April 23 ~~ Second Sunday of Easter ~~ Divine Mercy Sunday On this Divine Mercy Sunday, we read of Jesus’ gift to us and his commission: “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. He was speaking to his apostles, fearfully gathered behind a locked door, but his message extends to us, here, now. We are to be his instruments of mercy and peace. We are called to be leaven - transforming our corner of the world - family, neighborhood, school and workplace - for the better. We are the ones Jesus spoke of: “Blessed are those who have not seen but believe.” My Lord and my God!
