The Streaming Process
Streaming Exercise
Offering our students subject combinations
that will provide them with a wide range of
choices for post-secondary education.
Streaming Exercise will be based on
ability, interest and resource availability.
20
Key Principles
Streaming Exercise
The 2018 allocation of classes will be based the
choices of the students and the following criteria:
1. Overall Ranking
2. Sciences and Humanities Banding
3. Subject Criteria
4. Exercise and Sports Science Trial
21
Allocation Process
Overall Ranking
• All students are ranked based on their overall percentage for for all subjects
• Rank order will affect their chances of being streamed into a class of their choice
22
Sciences and Humanities Banding
• Students will be banded based on their aptitude for Sciences (Mathematics and Science) as well as Humanities (History, Geography and Literature)
• This will serve as a guide for the streaming committee to allocate students where they can best build on their strengths
23
Subject Criteria
• Some subjects require a minimum standard that students must achieve for specific subjects in their Secondary 2 examinations
• These include Pure Sciences, Science (Chem/Biology) and Pure Humanities
24
Elective Trial
• For students interested in taking Exercise and Sports Science
• Students must pass the trial in order to be considered for allocation to this elective
