Unit Objectives
• Students will explain what an economy is and it’s functions in the US.
• Students will explore the effects of inflation on US currency and indentify ways of investing money to deter loss of money.
• Students will calculate simple interest and compound interest to compare and contrast benefits and disadvantages.

• Students will explore the U.S. stock market and will explain the concept of supply and demand, the difference between high and lower risk stock and how investors rate and choose stock.
• Students will explore U.S. real estate and define mortgages, equity, collateral, while investigating why homeownership is apart of the American dream.
