Hangzhou CIS: Beginning in 2013-14, Year 10 (Grade 9) students were given the option of spending the year at our residential study center in Hangzhou, China. Participation in the Hangzhou CIS program is indicated on the transcript by the (HZ) designation. Information about Hangzhou CIS can be found at the following link: http://www.cis.edu.hk/hangzhou-cis Students who chose to remain in Hong Kong completed their Year 10 studies on the Braemar Hill campus. Whether completing their Year 10 studies in Hong Kong or at Hangzhou CIS, all students follow the IBMYP Year 10 curriculum. YEARS 12 - 13: All students pursue a course of study in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), selecting three Higher Level subjects and three Standard subjects, along with the required Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) projects, and the four-thousand word Extended Essay (personal research project). IBDP course selections include: Students complete their IBDP Examinations in May of Year 13, with final results available in early July. All Year 12-13 students complete Physical Education courses. GRADING SYSTEMBeginning August 2001, the Secondary School adopted the International Baccalaureate (IB) seven point grading scale (1-7) as the only grading system for Year 7 through Year 13. This 1-7 scale is used by the IB Organization in grading students for the Diploma as well as the Middle Years Program.
