SECRET GRADENS OF THE MIND
Este trabajo es el primero de un ciclo de obras que tiene por finalidad
rendir un homenaje a grandes músicos que han tenido una inlfuencia
importante en mi formación como compositor.
En este homenaje a Giacinto Scelsi la obra esta estructurada a partir de
la relación y tension que se produce entre las estructuras armonicas
prolongadas de manera casi estaticas y las notas rapidas que se
suceden de manera neurotica.
Sin embargo estos dos procesos constructivos se entrelazan, formando
una una sonoridad mixta en donde las notas rapidas son orquestadas
por sonidos largos producidos en otros instrumentos.
Jardines Secretos de la Mente es una alusion a la sorpresa de
encontrarse con ciertos proceso, sonoridades, estéticas y formas de ver
la vida y arte que en algun punto parecieran vivir dentro de cada uno de
nosotros, y que salen a flote cuando uno visita esos espacios en que se
encuentran descansando.
This score is the first in a series of works that aims to pay tribute to great
musicians who have had an important inlfuence my training as a
composer.
In this tribute to Giacinto Scelsi's work the music is structured from the
relationship and tension that occurs between harmonic structures
protracted almost static and fast notes that follow as a neurotic manner.
However, these two construction processes intertwine, forming a mixed
sonority where quick notes are orchestrated by long sounds produced by
other instruments.
Secret Gardens of the Mind is an allusion to the surprise of encountering
certain process, sonorities, aesthetics and ways of looking at life and art
seem that at some point live within each of us, and they come to the
surface when you visit these spaces in which they are resting.
PERFORMANCE NOTES
INSTRUMENTATION:
Flute, Bb Clarinet, Percussion, Harp, Piano and String Quartet.
NOTES FOR THE STRINGS:
The positions of the bow are indicated as follow: EST (extreme sul tasto),
ST (sul tasto), N (normal), SP (sul pont) and EST (extreme sul pont).
The arrow indicates gradual change in the bow position

Noise produced with a lot of pressure of the bow
over the strings.
Prolongation of a random note.
NOTES FOR THE WINDS:
Only air without pitch.
Fingering for the flute multiphonic
Fingering for the clarinet multiphonic.
The microtonal alteration in the fast passages are more an intention
rather than a precise note.
NOTES FOR THE PIANO:
Hit the strings with the palm of the hand.
NOTES FOR THE PERCUSSION:
INSTRUMENTS:
Vibraphone (with bow too), Bass drum, Marimba, Tam- tam (very large
size), 3 Tom toms, Maracas (very low) and Tamburo militare.
PERFORMANCE NOTES
COMMON INDICATIONS:
Repeat the pattern in the
box until the finish of the arrow. In this case with an own tempo.
Diminuendo until disappear.
Crescendo from the silence.
Accelerando- Ritardando.

This work has been written in 2013 especially.
This work was written especially for Noos Ensemble during 2013 in
Santiago de Chile.
The duration is 7 to 8 minutes.
