Solving Linear Inequalities

in One Variable

A linear inequality in x can be written in one of the following

forms: ax+b<0, ax+b 0, ax+b>0 ax+b 0. In each form

a 0.

Example:

When we multiply or divide b

a negative number, the direction of the inequality symbol

is reversed.
