LIVEAUCTION!

DutchAuction

Live Auction: Competitive, live bidding moderated by our very own Khaled Jafar.

Some highly popular silent auction items may be converted to live auction during the event.

InstantBiddingInstant Bidding: These items are available at a set clearing

price (which can be contributed by multiple people). They are available online now and will close before the auction.

Dutch Auction: Due to large numbers of participants, these items will be bid silently as a Dutch auction (last spot taken sets clearing price).

These can still be bid in groups, but the average price per member must exceed the clearing Dutch auction bid in order to win.

Page 5: Section I Charity Auction Program

General Auction Rules• Each auction item (live and silent) will be awarded to the highest bidder

at the close of bidding (see Dutch Auction rules for exceptions)• Groups bidding on a single item must select a spokesperson to bid on

behalf of the group (these items are designated in this brochure). See example below (see Dutch Auction rules for exceptions)

• Bid Minimums are MINIMUMS, in most cases they are significantly below the retail price for the auction item

• Auction item purchases are final. No returns or exchanges will be issued. Bidders should be prepared to pay at the end of the evening

Example: To win a dinner for four people, form a group of four, determine a total price you will bid as a group, and have a single person bid on the group‘s behalf

Page 6: Section I Charity Auction Program

Silent Auction Rules• Each auction item will have a starting bid. The highest bid made

during the allotted time wins• Bids will be submitted on open bid sheets, visible to all future

bidders• In order to bid on an item, you must bid at least $5 more than

previous bids• Items will be won by a single bidder paying a single price for the

entire item (pre-form groups for items for more than one person)• Some silent auction items may be moved to the live auction

shortly before closing the bidding• Exceptions: Items in the Dutch Auction, which will be bid on per-

person basis

Page 7: Section I Charity Auction Program

Live Auction Rules

• Each auction item will have a starting bid. • The auctioneer will raise bids by increments at

his own discretion• Items will be won by a single bidder paying a

single price for the entire item (pre-form groups for items for more than one person)

• Bidders should be prepared to pay at the end of the evening
