The handle stop atthe bottom of theUG trim prevents thelever from rotatingbeyond 85o.

Slip-Clutch LeverThe GG & UG style exterior trims includeSecuritechs LeverExTMslip-clutch apparatus

inside each trim exterior lever handle. If thehandle is forced while in locked mode, itbreaks away without unlocking the door andthe lock and lever are not damaged.

Resetting the lever is easy and does notreuire any tools or replacement parts. Ifthe lever is forced downward, simply pick itback up. It will lock back into the correctposition.

What is 1Solution? It is our electric locking and signalling via control trim solutionsboth retrot and new construction applications. Our control trim solutions can be usedthousands of applications from schools, universities and apartment buildings to hospitgovernment facilities and ofce buildings. Our GG style control trim is used with all of electric locking solutions to give you a uniform look and common method of entry throughyour faciliy.

It is our control trim that can be integrated with most access control or remote relea

systems, and can be installed on virtually any door.*

It is our 24vC electric release solenoid inside the trim, eliminating the need for elecstrikes. This allows for easier installation and greater reliability and durability.

Our control trim uses internal switches, activated by lever movement that can send reuto-exit signals and release electromagnetic locks.

Solutions

LEXITM Control trim can be retrotted to essentially any existing exit device hardware. Use this to electrify all of

your doors without replacing hardware. The LEXITMseries uses specially designed mounting plates

and operators to retrot to various exit devices. See page E2.0 for more information.

ELECTRATM

Control trim packages for mortise or cylindrical openings. Use these in both retrot of new constructionapplications. All the hardware is included. See page E3.0 for more information.

ACCEDTM Control trim packages with panic exit device. Use this for new construction applications reuiring exit

devices and control trim. All hardware is included. See page E4.0 for more information.

ARTETM Control trim for doors that only need a signal. Eliminates the need for pushbutton, IR sensors and other

magnetic releases. Provides a reuest-to-exit or electromagnetic lock without the use of a keyed

or electric release trim. See page E7.0 for more information.

RACHIETM ouble sided control trim for mantraps, sally ports, interlocks, secured wards and other entry & exit con

systems. The RACHIETMprovides 24vC electric release to both sides of the door. Customized for

SOLUTION

These recommended, minimum wire sizes are for reference only.Verify compliance with the local codes before installation.

The charts are base of the following criteria:

Current

The amount of current from the power supply to the control switches,contacts and the electrical product.

Distance

The distance, in feet, that the current travels from the power supplyto the control switches, contacts and the electrical product.

Wire Size

Minimum size reuired for controlling the electrical product. Largersizes can be used to meet code.

Wire Length

Length of wire in one direction.

Solenoi

Providing sufcient voltage to the solenoid of one product. If moreproducts are used, the distance should be multiplied by the numberof products used. Our electric release solenoid has a low currentdraw allowing easy access control system integration withoutreuiring special power supplies.

In the example above, 4 items are being connected: a 24vCpower supply; a junction box; a re-alarm panel, for emergencyrelease of the door in case of re; and a control trim.

First, determine the distance between each of the items:

The 24vC power supply is connected to the junction box.The distance is 82 feet.

The junction box is connected to the re-alarm panel and the

control trim. The distance between the junction box and re-alarm is 54 feet. The distance between the junction box andthe control trim is 26 feet.

Next add the distances (82, 54, 26) together. The totaldistance is 162 feet.

Refer to the chart for 24vC. Locate the nearest distance(250 feet). The recommended wire size is 18 AG.

How Does It Work?

Moving the interior lever activates a switch or switches. Tcan release an electromagnetic lock, send a signal to access control or alarm system or do both functions. The SECURIGUARTMshield is raised by

the magnetic key. The lock key may thenbe inserted and used.

The shield will remain open until loweredby use of the magnetic key.

KEY LOCK-OUT FUNCTION:

This function is used to lock-out keys and restrict access to thecylinder, in addition to cylinder protection.

Typically, a manager will raise the shield at the start of the day.Regular keys can then be used to operate the lock. At the endof the day, the manager uses the magnetic key to lower the

shield.
