HOW IT WORKS AODD DIAPHRAGM PUMPS

HOW IT WORKS The compressed air introduced by the pneumatic

exchanger (A) behind one of the two diaphragms

generates compression and pushes the product into

the delivery duct (B), at the same time the opposing

diaphragm that is integral with the exchanger shaft

creates a vacuum and intakes the fluid (C). Once the

stroke has been completed, the pneumatic exchanger

diverts the compressed air behind the opposing

diaphragm and the cycle is reversed.

HOW IT WORKSThe compressed air entering the back-pressure chamber behind the diaphragm creates a pneumatic cushion that adjusts automatically to compensate the shock produced by the pressure pulse of the fluid generated by the pump.

EQUAFLUX automatic diaphragm pulsation dampeners feature solid build and high performance. They are fitted to the discharge line of diaphragm pumps in order to smooth pulsating flows and can be used with liquids having high apparent viscosity even if containing suspended solids of considerable size.

EQUAFLUX dampeners automatically adapt to system conditions without the need for manual adjustment or calibration. The ability to minimise pulsations, vibrations and water hammer means that this component pro-vides excellent protection and smooth system flow. The huge choice of construction materials allows selection of optimum chemical compatibility with the fluid and/or environment without neglecting the temperature range. Dampeners are also available for use in poten-tially explosive atmospheres (ATEX certification).

These pumps are suitable for various applications in the chemical, plating and water treatment fields. Simplicity of design insures the minimum compo-nents for cost and ease of repair. The elimination of the shaft seal limits liquid leakage of aggressive fluids due to the lack of component wear.

OPERATION AND INSTALLATION

Pumps cannot be operated in dry run condition. They are designed for clean liquids only. Dirty or contaminated fluids can reduce pump life. Pump should be mounted horizontal and below the liquid level to prevent dry running.

Pump housing and impeller material is either polypropylene (PP) or polyvinylidene (PVDF).

aPPlIcaTIOn Check valves, also known as “non-return valves”, are designed for use in process piping installation to prevent reverse flow.

WORKIng PRIncIPleA check valve opens when the pressure below the valve plug exceeds the pres-sure above the valve plug and the spring force. The valve closes when pressure equalization has been achieved.

STanDaRD DeSIgnThe forged stainless steel valve body ensures non-porous, smooth surfaces and dimensionally stable construction. The valve body is in two parts, assembled by means of a standard clamp and sealed with a standard gasket. The self-drain-ing design of the lower valve body enables flushing of the product. Ribbed construction of the stainless steel disc resists heavy pressure hammer, minimizes the resistance to flow and also serves as a guide to the valve plug. All seats and seals are made from FDA approved materials.

The High Intensity Magnetic Sampling Probe is ideal for quality control personnel to quickly and easily carry out product purity inspections on any powder, granulate or liquids for ferrous or para-magnetic contamination.

The probe should be used for sample inspection of product at inward goods, prior to despatch and at critical control points throughout the process line for batch testing.

Simply allow the processed product to pass over the magnetic section of the probe or agitate any static product. Any ferrous or paramagnetic contamination present will be highly visible when concentrated on the probes surface.

aPPlIcaTIOnStainless steel filters and strainers are used in liquid flow systems for removal of various size particles.

WORKIng PRIncIPleFilters allow the removal of fine particles from various liquids. The stainless steel mesh can be reused after cleaning. Strainers are coarse filters that remove larger particles.

STanDaRD DeSIgnThe filters and strainers consist of a housing with an inlet and outlet. Inside the housing the straining element is fixed in such a way that the flow is forced through it. This element consists of a backup tube and straining mesh which is fitted between two flanges by means of a rubber gasket. The flanges clamp to the housing with a standard clamp and
