2Kings 20:1-8 (Amplified)1 BEN-HADAD KING of Syria

gathered all his army together; thirty-two kings were with him, and horses and chariots. And he went up and besieged Samaria, warring against it. 2 He sent messengers into Samaria to Ahab king of Israel and said to him, Thus says Ben-hadad: 3 Your silver and your gold are mine; your wives and your children, even the fairest, also are mine.

4 And the king of Israel answered and said, My lord, O king, according to what you say, I am yours, and all that I have. 5 The messengers came again and said, Thus says Ben-hadad: Although I have sent to you, saying, You shall deliver to me your silver, your gold, your wives, and your children— 6 Yet I will send my servants to you tomorrow about this time, and they shall search your house and the houses of your servants; and all the desire of your eyes they shall lay hands upon and take it away. 7 Then the king of Israel called all the elders of the land and said, Notice now and see how this man is seeking our destruction. He sent to me for my wives, my children, my silver, and my gold, and I did not refuse him. 8 And all the elders

and all the people said to him, Do not heed him or consent.

This was actually the case for Hezekiah.In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. What are you carrying in your hands? Isn’t it a laboratory report? Isn’t it a doctor’s report? Why are you crying then? The king Hezekiah was dealing with a prophetic and heavenly report. The report was a bad news and not good news, yet the king knew what he ought to do. There are few times when even after the prayer of elders, pastors, and even prophets the signs may still be contrary. In that sense it would be time to turn your face to the wall, your back to the world, fix your gaze on Jesus and cry out to God. Many of us are passive in our search and quest for healing. Until you can be earnest about healing, you are not interested in finding healing. Pray earnestly when the signs are contrary. Learn from Hezekiah.

Receive but refuse to settle with the reportWhen the prophet brought the report to the king, he received the report. Many of us would not have listened to the report, but the king received the report. The only thing is he refused to accept and settle with the report.

Turn your face to the wall and fix your gaze on JesusHe immediately knew from the very moment that he received the report that the world has no help to offer him. He turned his back to the world and stood face to face with the King of Kings. Your gaze must be fixed on Christ.John 3:14(14) And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: Much as those who were bitten by serpents were healed and lived as they fixed their eyes on the brass serpent that Moses lifted up, so also would you be healed, saved and not die from this sickness as you fix your gaze on Jesus.

Pray earnestly and with faithEven our Lord Jesus Christ in the days of his flesh when he was faced with a near impossible situation turned to prayer.Hebrew 5:7(7) Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; The Bible says He cried unto Him that is able to save His soul from death and He was heard. Notice however that He offered prayer (a chant, oratory, adoration) and supplication (petition, pleadings, and reasoning) with strong crying and tears unto him that is able to save his soul. He did not call on men; he cried out to God and he was heard. When you feel too weak to pray alone, then join the gathering of the saints. Also, if the condition is affecting many other people, call for the assembling of the saints. Matthew 18:18-20(18) Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

Most often than not when people of faith are taken ill or become sick; we hardly expect to hear a bad report. We look forward to hearing good reports and seeing significant improvement by the day. In a few cases however some people grow weaker by the day and the reports are very discouraging.

SEED

Praying men fulfill more because prayer is not just a medium to get things done or released. Prayer does more than just that in the life of a saint. For me I think it is erroneous to think of prayer as a means of getting things done. We will soon see that praying men must achieve more.

PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY HAVE A STRONGER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD ; WHO IS EVERYWHERE, KNOWS EVERYTHING,

CAN DO ALL THINGS, AND WILL HELP ALL THOSE WHO TRUST IN HIM ALWAYS.

Prayer strengthens the relationship men have with the father. The lord Jesus taught us to pray saying “Our father who art in heaven...” Matthew 6:9. Each time we pray this prayer, we are reassured that we have a relationship with God and are heirs to the throne of heaven. This is not an ordinary relationship. It is a relationship that impacts to us the ability to do the works of God.

PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE AS MEN COMMUNE WITH GOD, WE LITERALLY BEGIN TO RECEIVE HIS MINDSET, HIS POWER AND STRENGTH

We become anointed to do the

things He does. The longer we stay in God’s presence the much we begin to look like Him. It is like a piece of iron staying with a magnet. After some time of staying in the magnetic field of the magnet, it becomes a magnet too. Praying men become godly and powerful.

PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY NEVER LACK REVELATION, UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE EVEN INTO UNSEARCHABLE THINGS

A natural man only knows what is discovered, revealed and unveiled. Human knowledge is very limited in scope. Because of this there is the need to receive God’s revelation. Without this revelation, we shall grope in darkness. Information gathered from libraries and encyclopedias are limited and shall be unable to show us the things freely given us. Only God can show these things to his children. As we pray, the Lord will reveal to us every good treasure that is hidden in the heart of the earth. God has promised to show us the location of these treasures. Jeremiah 33:3 (Darby)Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and I will shew thee great and hidden things,

which thou knowest not.Prayer unveils or reveals great, mighty and unsearchable things. It

positions us to buy into the mind of God and releases us from the darkness of uncertainty. Praying men are never confused. They understand many things from a realm most men cannot access. In this life there are great and mighty things for and against us that we do not know. God shall show us things that are freely given to us, and things that are working against us.The Bible says in 1Corinthians 2:9-11

Praying men are never confused

(Darby) but according as it is written, Things which eye has not seen, and ear not heard, and which have not come into man’s heart, which God has prepared for them that love him, but God has revealed to us by his Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God. For who of men hath known the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? thus also the things of God knows no one except the Spirit of God.As we pray, the Lord reveals things to us so that we might know the great and mighty things reserved for us. He does by His Spirit. Even professors are limited because there is a dimension of knowledge that can only be available by the enablement of the Holy Spirit.

PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY ESCAPE FROM CERTAIN THINGS THAT SHALL COME UPON THE EARTH

Christ have clearly stated that in this last days The hearts of men shall be overcharged with surfeiting, gluttony, and drunkenness. The hearts of men shall be overcharged by the cares of life.The Bible says this shall be a snare - trap device or con - to steal the hearts of men so that the day of the Lord would come upon them suddenly. This snare of cares and anxiety shall come upon all men on earth, but only prayer can make a way for our escape. Luke 21:34-36 (Darby)But take heed to yourselves lest possibly your hearts be laden with surfeiting and drinking and cares of life, and that day come upon you suddenly unawares; for as a snare shall it come upon all them that dwell upon the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, praying at every season, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things which are about to come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man. These days are already upon us today, multiples of brands of liquors, wine, juices, drinks and food joints which are now flooding us. Centers of

pleasure and fun are springing up like mushrooms faster than the church is spreading out. Men are busy chasing the cares of their life. Appetites are left unrestrained, worldliness, excesses and drunkenness is the order and the norm of the today. It is a snare that we can escape only by the strength of prayer.

PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY ARE DELIVERED FROM ENTERING INTO

TEMPTATIONMark 14:38 (Darby) Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh weak.Many times, we are unable to do the things we say and desire. We fall into the temptation of disloyalty. Why? It is because our bodies lack the strength to discharge the sincere desires of our spirit. The flesh shows weakness. When we pray however, we release strength and protection from temptation. Praying daily inoculates you against the pain and temptation of life. Our lord Jesus was a leader in this. He prayed when it mattered most and repeatedly

admonished us to pray.Luke 22:40-46 (Darby)And when he was at the place he said to them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and having knelt down he prayed, saying, Father, if thou wilt remove this cup from me: --but then, not my will, but thine be done.And an angel appeared to him from heaven strengthening him. And his sweat became as great drops of blood, falling down upon the earth.And rising up from his prayer, coming to the disciples, he found them sleeping from grief. PRAYING MEN ACHIEVE MUCH IN LIFE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT GROW WEARY EVEN IN THE FACE OF GREAT CHALLENGES AND ADVERSITY

Prayer strengthens, edifies, invigorate, revitalize and salvages the faith of praying men. Praying men never crumble under pressure and the heat of affliction. James 5:13-15 (Darby) Does anyone among you suffer evil? let him pray.Prayer generates power and strength. Prayer averts evil and soothes pain. Prayer strengthens us to forbear in the face of serious affliction. In the book of Luke, we see how prayer and intercession shall save our faith from failing. After several admonishing that Peter should pray which he did not heed, the devil came to try him. The only thing that saved

him was Jesus’ prayer for him.Luke 22:31-32 (Darby) And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded to have you, to sift you as wheat; but *I* have besought for thee that thy faith fail not; and *thou*, when once thou hast been restored, confirm thy brethren. In Jesus’ parable of the widow and the unjust judge, we learn that when men prayer they do not easily faint or get easily discouraged. Men ought to pray always and not to faint.Luke 18:1 (Darby) And he spoke also a parable to them to the purport that they should always pray and not faint, Anxiety and cares are thieves. They do not add anything to our lives but rather steal our health and well being. Many people have worried and suffered heart attacks yet they could not add an inch to their height or even turn one hair grey. But prayer in contrast has done much more. Beloved be anxious for nothingLuke 12:22-32 (Darby) And he said to his disciples, For this cause I say unto you, Be not careful for life, what ye shall eat, nor for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than food, and the body than raiment. Consider the ravens, that they sow not nor reap; which have neither storehouse nor granary; and God feeds them. How much better are *ye* than the birds?But which of you by being careful can add to his stature one cubit? If therefore ye cannot do even what is least, why are ye careful about the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I say unto you, Not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these. But if God thus clothe the grass, which to-day is in the field and to-morrow is cast into the oven, how much rather you, O ye of little faith?And *ye*, seek not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, and be not in anxiety; for all these things do

the nations of the world seek after, and your Father knows that ye have need of these things; but seek his kingdom, and all these things shall be added to you.Fear not, little flock, for it has been the good pleasure of your Father to give you the kingdom.The Lord makes it clear that to add a cubit to your height is one of the least things to do but anxiety cannot do it. Why then be anxious?

Prayer sanctifies the food and meat we receive.1Titus 4:3-5 (Darby) forbidding to marry, bidding to abstain from meats, which God has created for receiving with thanksgiving for them who are faithful and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving; for it is sanctified by God’s word and freely addressing him .

The act of prayer reinforces our sense of stewardship. When I pray it always reminds me that all the things I have was given to me from heaven. It reinforces my sense of stewardship.

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved” and “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and

thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”

(Acts 2:21; Romans 10:9). You said my salvation will be the

result of Holy Spirit giving me new birth by coming to live in

I take You at Your Word. I confess that Jesus is Lord. And I believe in my heart that You raised Him

from the dead. Thank You for coming into my heart, for giving me your Holy Spirit as You have promised and for being Lord over

my life. Amen.
