Dear Chamber Friends,
Summer is winding down but there are still some fun activities to take
advantage of while we still have gorgeous weather. You and your family will
find treasures and treats at the Selah Farmers Market every Wednesday night
as well as fun art activities and live music. Be sure to stop by Kings Row and
pick up your fresh produce, we are so blessed to have so many crops offered
right in the center of Selah.
We hope you were able to join us on Tuesday (Aug. 30th, 9am) for the ribbon
cutting and open house at Tailgaters Bar and Grill. We are excited to welcome
them to the Selah business family. Also take time to check out Simplicity
across the parking lot (next to Red Apple) for unique and beautiful home
decorating items. We are thrilled to have these new businesses in Selah.
The time is now to get involved in the 12th annual “Cowgirl Up for a Cure”
event which a portion of our proceeds benefits North Star Lodge. It’s going to
be huge this year, big prizes, fun activities and lots of fun shopping. Your
business can be a part of the fun experience as a vendor, sponsor or just
come join us for a fun cowgirl’s night out that raises money for North Star
Lodge. Please contact Glenda at the Selah Chamber office to be a part of it
all!! (698-7303).
September offers lots of opportunities for Selah businesses to get involved and
promoted through events and activities. The Selah Downtown Association is
hosting the Red Carpet Gala on September 10th, the Selah Fall Festival and
Selah Base Race/Autumn Festival is the weekend of the 17th. We hope these
events draw folks into town to shop, eat and have some fun. Take advantage
of these opportunities to promote your business and see new customers.
Thank you Selah Schools for a great first week and have a safe and fun Labor
Day weekend.
God bless,
Jean Brown

Receive cash incentives for energy-efficient upgrades
The Tri-Cities Airport and Port of Pasco received $32,000 in cash incentives from the Cascade Natural Gas
Commercial and Industrial Energy Conservation Program (CNGC) for the installation of gas boilers at the newly
renovated airport. Upon the completion of an upgraded roof insulation in September, they’ll qualify for another
incentive of $32,000 plus a summer insulation bonus adding an extra incentive of 20 percent, bringing the total in
rebates to nearly $70,000. CNGC offers cash rebates on qualified high-efficiency natural gas equipment such as
heating, insulation, water heating systems, cooking equipment installed as replacement, retrofit as well as new
installation in place of standard efficiency equipment.
For all qualified insulation installations between June 1st and September 30th, CNGC is increasing insulation
incentives by 20 percent, giving you an additional $0.10 to $0.16 per square foot. From noise reduction, to
reduced energy consumption, to lower utility bills, take advantage of this summer promotion to improve comfort
and performance in commercial buildings. Contact Bill Prillaman at 503.329.5372 for more information.
