Preface

The proceedings volume contains the selected papers presented at the 12th Symposium of Magnetic Measurementsand Modeling “SMMM’2016”, which was held in Siewierz (Poland) from October 17 to 19, 2016. The symposiumwas organized by Częstochowa Branch of Polish Society of Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering (PTETiS)in cooperation of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Częstochowa University of Technology, Tele & Radio ResearchInstitute, Warsaw, Ariel University, Israel, Institute of Materials Science, University of Silesia in Katowice, StalproduktS.A., Bochnia and Electrotechnical Institute, Warsaw.

The Symposium has emerged as a continuation of Symposia of Magnetic Measurements held previously. Thescope of the Symposium has been widened with modeling of properties and applications of magnetic materials andcovered the following subjects: magnetic measurements and techniques, indirect measurements of physical properties ofmagnetic properties, structures and properties of magnetic materials, magnetic sensors, magnetic circuits in electricalmachines, nondestructive testing of materials, modeling as well as design of mechatronic systems and computer-aidedvisualization of electromagnetic fields.

Over 60 people from academic centers, research institutes and industry took part in the Symposium, includingdelegates from National University of Columbia (Columbia), Cardiff University (United Kingdom), Ariel University(Israel), Czech Academy of Sciences, Institute of Physics (Czech Republic) and Magnet-Physik Dr. SteingroeverGmbH (Germany). 2 plenary and 11 thematic sessions were organized during the Symposium, including four invitedtalks.

Participants of Symposium of Magnetic Measurements and Modeling SMMM’2016

The organizing committee would like to express its gratitude to all participants for high-level presentation of theirresearch, dealing with scientific and engineering aspects of measurement and modeling of soft magnetic materialproperties.

It should be recalled that the Symposium was organized within the framework of 55th anniversary of Polish Societyof Theoretical and Applied Electrical Engineering, 15th anniversary of Częstochowa Branch of PTETiS and 50thanniversary of Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Częstochowa University of Technology.
