Innovation

Different communication methods that serve the purpose without destroying the objective could

be considered as innovative methods of teaching

EDUCATION Education is the light that shows the mankind the right direction to serge.

If education fails to inculcate self-discipline and commitment to achieve in the minds of the students, it is not their faultEducation should become fun and thrill to the student rather than burden and boredom

The society must see education as an advancement in informative-era, rather than achieving simply social elevation

MATHEMATICS Mathematics is not something you learn -

– Mathematics is something “you do”.

As repeated practice is needed for registration , technology

will take up this duty effectively.

There is a big difference between the ability to do Mathematics and the ability to read!

OBJECTIVES To evaluate the teaching and to suggest other useful

teaching methods that can be attempted in imparting knowledge to the studentObjective of teaching Mathematics must include two

major components: sending and receiving the information (interactive)

The use of innovative methods in education has the potential to improve quality of education but also to

empower people, strengthen governance and galvanize the effort to achieve the human development

goal for the country in the future digital world.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

feel really fun and enjoy learning Mathematics.are able to understand the abstract things easily by the usage of technology are interested to learn through mobile/computer/ tabs/projector as the subject get registered in their minds.

are enriched with different modes of learning which enriches their knowledge.

regularity and punctuality is increased, as they are interested in multi-sensor learning.

Innovative method used to teach Math at Primary Level

The students of my school G.P.S. Lalapet were first grouped into 3 different levels. - First level are the one who are unable to recognize the single digits. - The second level of students are who are unable to write the numbers in order. - The third level of students are who can not do the 4 mathematical operations.Students were exposed to the Interactive Apps according to their age, class and level understanding in the first instance along with my general teaching in the class room, using my mobile. The first level of students were exposed to the counting of numbers. As the students had no background (nursery/LKG/UKG) they were exposed to count the number of objects repeatedly. After recognition of the number of objects, they were exposed to the Number app in the mobile, where they have to write the number using their fingers.

Page 19: Seminar@SCERTtg

The first generation learners need more practice as they did not have the environment at their home. The same process was repeated till they recognized the numbers and were able to write the numbers with their hand.

The second level of children were exposed to the order of numbers, where they had to know the serial numbering

The third level students were exposed t0 count and match the numbers and objects.

Observations

Page 20: Seminar@SCERTtg

In the whole process the students will try to learn in trial and error method. Where there are multiple instances to learn. This also can be called as individualized instruction method through repeated practice.

If the student is able to recognize, they were exposed to practice for perfection. When they are unable to recognize, they were given chance to try again.

In this way the trial and error method using the interactive mobile apps were helpful to the slow learners. One important thing is that, the learners were encouraged by immediate reinforcement for all their responses whether it is correct or wrong by telling try again and by clapping sound for the correct response.

Observations

Page 21: Seminar@SCERTtg

OUTCOME OF THE INNOVATIONStudents are able to understand the content eeasily, where teacher is just a facilitator

Students are able to understand the difficult concepts like (the 4 mathematical operations) multiplication of 2x2, 3x2 digit numbers

Page 22: Seminar@SCERTtg

Implications Students in-turn learn the subject/content using technology

at formative ageStudents will not depend on others for usage of technology at all levels of their learning.

Students may not get bored of the subject, as they find the solution of every doubt immediately along with appreciation

Students are equipped with technology along with subject knowledge. And they need not waste their time in learning the technological skills and for searching their livelihood after education by taking some other courses.

Newest Teaching Methods

Interactive teaching and learning method using the latest technology was worldwide tried and accepted method- as it demands the attention of all domains of learning and long term memory is assured

Page 24: Seminar@SCERTtg

Technology is also changing the classroom experience. Information and communication technology has made many innovations in the field of teaching and also made a drastic change from the old paradigm of teaching learning. The concept of paperless, pen-less, bookless and burden-less class rooms are emerging as an alternative to the old teaching learning method.

The very important thing observed as a teacher that, when ever the syllabus was changed – it was started at primary level. Then why not this change is continued in usage of technology at primary level, where the child is ready to learn many things at childhood according to psychological studies.
