The netWORKri one-stop career centers are a partnership of professional labor, training and education organizations that match job seekers with employers.

Located in Providence, West Warwick and Woonsocket, the centers offer an array of services including: employer and adult job seeker research and placement services; exploration and placement; veterans’ career services; online learning; and occupational skills training referrals.

The Reemployment Center in Wakefield focuses specifically on career and training services.

• Participants are eligible for the program if they have not previously completed 400 hours in the Work Immersion Program

• Employers are eligible for up to 10 Work Immersion participants (students or unemployed adults) per fiscal year

• Employers must be registered with the RI Secretary of State’s Office

• To qualify for reimbursement, the temporary work experience or internship must offer the participant paid employment for a period of 20 consecutive weeks or less

• $12.40 per hour/30 hours minimum

• The GWB Incumbent Worker Training Grant program is funded by the Job Development Fund and provides matching grants to businesses to increase the skills of current employees and increase the competiveness and productivity of RI businesses and workers.

• Real Jobs RI, as a first-of-its-kind workforce development program, is part of the business recruitment/retainmentpackage offered by DLT

• Real Jobs RI and DLT staff are available, as needed, to determine exactly what current or prospective businesses’ workforce needs are

• Real Jobs RI will build workforce solutions to spec, and on the business’s timeline; either by engaging one of our current Partnerships or identifying new partners

Work Opportunity Tax Credit

• $2,400 for each new adult hired $9,600 for each new long-term family assistance recipient hired over a two-year period

New Employment Tax Incentive

• To allow a tax incentive in the form of a deduction or modification of 40% of the employee's first year wages up to $2,400 per employee

Workshare is an alternative to layoffs.When an employer experiences a temporary reduction in business, a qualified employer can reduce the hours of multiple employees and the employees can enjoy the benefit of a supplemental unemployment insurance payment.

Who is eligible for Workshare?• Workshare is open to any employer with two or

more employees.

• The employers account must be up to date with taxes or reimbursements

• The reduction cannot be the result of a seasonal business slow down

• The reduction must be applied evenly to all employees in the same unit

• The employer is able to retain skilled workers

• Reduce hiring and retraining costs when business improves

• Improves employee morale

• Avoid the financial and emotional hardships usually associated with layoffs
