College Applications
Be sure to request counselor’s report, secondary report and transcript requests well ahead of time.
Online applications are preferred. Only include information from your high
school years.
Transcripts
Sign clipboard for transcript request Pay Ms. Kendrick $1.00 when you pick up
the ready-to-mail envelope. You mail it yourself. No charge to send an e-transcript.
If taking a class at VHCC, you will have to request transcripts directly from them.
SAT/ACT scores will be on your transcript if you requested them to be sent to AHS.
Some schools will not accept SAT/ACT on transcript.
Letters of Recommendation
Most colleges ask for at least one letter. Start asking now…teachers get overloaded with
requests as deadlines near. Give them an addressed envelope with postage. You will get a better recommendation if you give the
person enough time to do a good job for you. Who to ask? Teachers, Coaches, Employers, Club
Sponsors, people you’ve worked with in a volunteer capacity.
Scholarships
Scholarships are listed in the monthly senior newsletter, on the school website and emailed to parents.
Check the list often and make sure you meet deadlines.
Scholarships are available for all types of programs.
