A  Senior  Portfolio  Presentation  

  SWAU    Union  College    Friedensau  Hochschule(ACA)  

  History    IRR    Sports  &  Fitness  Management  

   Kinesiology  is  often  described  as  the  study  of  human  movement  through,  and  related  to,  exercise  and  sports.  It  is  the  science  of  human  performance  and  the  manner  in  which  we  push  the  boundaries  and  limits  of  our  physical  capabilities  in  search  of  our  ultimate  physical  potential.  As  students  of  this  science,  it  is  our  responsibility  to  guide  others,  whether  they  are  athletes,  students,  or  clients,  in  their  physical  goals  in  sports,  athletics,  and  health.  It  is  our  duty  as  professionals  in  this  field  to  learn  all  we  can  on  human  physical  performance  and  relay  it  in  such  a  way  as  to  help  others.  Kinesiology  exists  as  a  study  in  order  to  help  people  better  understand  how  we  function  in  movement  and  the  kinetics  of  the  human  body.  When  we  relate  this  to  Christian  beliefs,  it  takes  on  an  even  deeper  meaning:  a  unique  search  to  find  imprints  of  the  Creator  in  the  abilities  of  our  bodies.  The  study  of  kinesiology  only  helps  solidify  the  reality  of  a  greater  power  and  His  care  in  creating  us  to  maneuver  and  perform  in  ways  that  continue  to  amaze  us.  

ACSM-­‐HFS

  Created  one  program  for  fictional  athlete  

  Outlined  up  to  60  week  cycle

  Beta-­‐Alanine  and  its  Effects  on  Strength  Athletes  in  Regards  to  Muscular  Strength  and  Body  Composition  

  20-­‐30  male  lifters    56  day  study    Uniform  program  and  similar  diet  

  Hypothesis:  Increases  in  lean  mass,  increases  in  strength  levels  due  to  better  OBLA  levels  and  decreased  chances  of  DOMS.  

  Perform  with  pre  and  post  testing  with  SPSS  analysis
