Interested in the Catholic Faith?

One week after the September 19th Overview of the Catholic Faith, our RCIA program will begin. Again, if you’ve been thinking about joining the Church or simply want to learn more about the Catholic faith, we invite you to join our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of

Adults) program. We begin September 26, and this will be a more in-depth look at the Catholic Faith. This past Easter, we welcomed 14 new parishioners into our family and would love for you to be included next year. If you know of someone who has expressed interest in learning about our faith, please contact Phyllis or Bill Luehrmann, RCIA Coordinators, at 818-389-1828 or 310-710-4443. Sponsors: We are also looking for sponsors for the program. Please consider walking this journey of faith with our candidates. Training is provided.

Interested in the Catholic faith? Do you know a friend or family member who might be interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith? Last year at the Easter Vigil Mass 14 people joined the Catholic Faith at Most Sacred Heart Parish. This could be you or someone you love next Easter Vigil Mass 2020. On Thursday, September 19th, at 7:00 pm Father Joe will offer a one hour presentation in Church which will include some thoughts about the purpose of religion, the question of God and an overview of the Catholic Faith. He will also do his best to answer any questions about these topics.

This is one of the first steps for anyone interested in becoming Catholic, but it may also be of benefit to anyone who is just curious about the Catholic Faith as well as anyone in between. Baptized Catholics who have been away from Church for some time, no matter how long, may also find the experience enlightening. The evening should be informative and engaging, and we encourage you to invite anyone you think would benefit. If you or a loved one have questions or would like additional information please contact Phyllis or Bill Luehrmann at 818-389-1828 or 310-710-4443.

Congratulations to Anna Coppin - Eureka Citizen of the Year Congratulations to 11 yr old PSR student Anna Coppin who received this year’s Eureka Citizen of the Year Award. Anna rode in the Eureka Days Parade, and was recognized Saturday evening on the Main Stage and presented with a plaque noting her award. Anna’s award comes as recognition for an idea she had when given a school assignment to “create something that would help our Community.’ Anna decided to create a Giving Box, and with the help of her Grandpa, she did just that. After getting approval from the Eureka City Council, Anna’s Giving Box was placed on a ‘Safe Lot’ near the Eureka Police Department offices. The Giving Box is a nice large container where Eureka residents are able to stock food and other items when they have extra, or can help themselves to food and other items, if they are in need. AROUND TOWN

Join The Cornerstone Catholic Scripture Study Come and see! The Cornerstone Catholic Scripture Study will be studying the Letters of James, Peter and John at several St. Louis area parishes. Classes begin in September 2019 and end in early Spring 2020. Weekly meetings are based on brief talks, small group interaction, and great readings from the Bible and Catholic commentaries. Life in the Spirit Seminars – St. Louis ArchdioceseWe are blessed to offer Life In the Spirit Seminars in the St. Louis Archdiocese. The Life in the Spirit Seminar is a Catholic, scripturally-based process of seven teaching sessions, each building upon the previous session. It includes speakers, scripture, music, prayer, and small group discussion. Seminars are scheduled throughout the year at various parishes. Who should attend? Anyone that wants to deepen their relationship with God the Father, God the Son and especially God the Holy Spirit. This is a great "next step" for those who have attended a Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) or ACTS retreat at the parish level. Or, if you would simply like a change from bible study or want to interact with other Catholics at a more regional gathering, this would be a good option. "Life in the Spirit Seminar" will be offered at the Catholic Renewal Center, 1406 S. Sappington Rd. on Thursday mornings, 10:00 - noon on seven Thursdays, September 12 to October 24. The seminar is free, but donations are appreciated. Please pre-register by calling the Center at 314-731-6100 or by e-mail archstl.org/renewal
