    A Note from Fr. Quealy

How appropriate it is for us to reflect on the Seven Sorrows of Mary as we recall on Monday the tragedy of 9/11. Here are the seven sorrows:

 the prophecy of Simeon to Mary; A sword shall piece your heart

 at the flight into Egypt; Joseph and Mary flee the slaughter of the innocent

 The loss of the Holy Child at Jerusalem;  meeting Jesus on his way to Calvary;  standing at the foot of the Cross;  Jesus being taken from the Cross;  the burial of Christ.

Friday, September 15th is our parish Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. May God and Our Blessed Mother protect us all from evil and give eternal rest to those who lost their lives, including the service men and women who fought so bravely to safeguard our country. Let us always keep our military and their families in our prayers. Next Saturday we will have our annual parish picnic and the 5pm Mass will be a celebrated in honor of Our Lady of Sorrows. We always have a wonderful time so come and enjoy!

    God bless, Fr. Quealy
