The second album by Black Sabbath, released in 1970, has longattained classic status. ‘Paranoid’ not only changed the face of rockmusic forever, but also defined the sound and style of Heavy Metalmore than any other record in rock history. The result of a magicchemistry between four English musicians, it catapulted BlackSabbath into the rock stratosphere.
This programme tells the story behind the writing, recording andsuccess of this groundbreaking album. Using exclusive interviews, musical demonstration, archive footage, and returning to the multi-tracks with engineer Tom Allom, the film reveals how OzzyOsbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward created their frighteningly dark, heavy and ear-shatteringly loudsound.
The multi-platinum selling Paranoid is arguably Black Sabbath'sfinest album, not to mention one of the most seminal Heavy Metalalbums of all time, containing some of the band's best-known sig-nature songs, including the title track “Paranoid”, “Iron Man”,“Hand Of Doom” and “War Pigs”. This is truly a Classic Album.

• The Things We Think We’re missing is bAlANCE AND COmpOSURE’S new studio album, set for release on September 13, 2013 via No Sleep Records/Shock.• According to balance and Composure, they can be loud, quiet and everything in between. A pretty apt description in a nutshell. Once you get down to an intricate school of thought, the lyricism of singer Jon Simmons shows things in a different light. Having all met in the philadelphia suburb of Doylestown, pA through mutual projects during their high school years, balance and Composure was formed.• A sonic assault melding infl uences such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Neutral milk Hotel and Nirvana, their 2011, critically heralded debut album, Separation, adhered to the band's namesake. A cohesive listen of anthemic and melodic guitar blitzes with poignant lyricism, rhythmic thrusts and an abrasive pop knack in its overall deliverance, Separation helped establish balance and Composure as one of underground rock's most promising newcomers.• Following their debut, balance and Composure toured continuously over the next several years with the likes of Circa Survive, la Dispute, Touche Amore and Title Fight. In the Spring of 2013, the band embarked on their fi rst ever U.S. headlining tour with the recently reunited The Jealous Sound as support. After selling out venues in Chicago, los Angeles, boston and New york, it was clear their popularity was at an all time high.• picking up where Separation left off, balance and Composure return once again to push the boundaries of their music with driving riffs and intensely passionate vocals on the band's long-awaited second studio album, The Things We Think We're missing. It's the type of record that makes listeners pause and refl ect, evoking moments of happiness and sadness over the course of thirteen songs.
Key points• First single 'Refl ection' was premiered by pitchfork• Stu Harvey (Short.Fast.loud) premiered the track ‘Refl ection’ on Triple J• Richard Kingsmill spun 'Refl ection' on Triple J '2013'• Album track 'Tiny Raindrop' premiered by SpIN magazine

• In October 1987 after many months on the road, it was in the elevated surroundings of the hillside open-air theatre at lycabettus overlooking Athens, that the “So” tour came to a climactic close. The three nights were fi lmed in what was the fi rst-ever peter Gabriel concert to be committed to fi lm. As a concert fi lm, it was brilliantly shot and has now been equally brilliantly remastered, a crystal-clear record of Gabriel and band in their mid-80s pomp. The viewer is placed right in the heart of the action all the way, from the band’s synchronised choreography on opening number “This Is The picture”, right through to the skin-pricking closer “biko”. In between, we’re lost in music, spellbound by the spectacle, totally absorbed by the imperfection-free tightness of a band that’s been on the road for so long.
