PHXRespect

Program Overview

PHXRespect is a citywide program that continues the concepts covered in Civil Treatment and further explores ways to support a respectful and inclusive environment.

Everyone plays a role in the success of our organization. One of the most important elements of that success is building effective relationships by treating each other with respect and kindness. PHXRespect is a program about diversity and inclusion, and identifies characteristics of a respectful workplace, and examines acceptable and unacceptable workplace conduct and behaviors. Topics covered are: unconscious bias, diversity, inclusion, workplace harassment, bullying, “Duty to Report,” “Duty to Act,” and more.

You will soon see more awareness initiatives to keep the conversation going on respect and inclusion, including giveaways, PHXConnect articles, additional resources and tools for supervisors.

At the end of the curriculum there is an activity to discuss your commitments to build a respectful and inclusive environment:

What will you do to support respect and inclusion? How will you positively influence your teams? How will this impact the city of Phoenix?

More to come in next week’s issue…

Annual Trip Reduction Survey

Certain city employees are required to participate in the Annual Trip Reduction Survey.

You should have received the email with the survey on Tuesday, Sept. 3. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey no later than Sept. 30.

The survey is a critical component of the city’s Rideshare Program. By completing the survey, city employees can do their part to help improve the Valley’s air quality

and traffic congestion. The city is audited based on survey entries. We count on you to get an excellent report!

For more information, contact your department TRP liaison or call Cindy Salazar at 602-256-5669 or email [email protected].

The Amazing Library Card

Consider Phoenix Public Library as a place to start when you need something. Today, your

library offers so much more than books. While books are, and always will be, a core feature,

having a Phoenix Public Library Card offers you access to a more significant range of

information, resources, and things to do.

Beginning Sept. 22 Agave, Acacia, Desert Broom and Desert Sage Libraries will now be

open Sundays from 1 - 5 p.m.! Don’t have a library card? Start with our eCard for instant

digital access of Phoenix Public Library resources. Then, when you are ready, you can turn

the eCard into a full-service card by visiting any of our locations.

Kindergarten Bootcamp Fall Sessions

Is your child entering kindergarten next fall? Get them ready by enrolling in Kindergarten Bootcamp at Phoenix Public Library. This interactive series meets once a week for seven weeks, to give families a taste of kindergarten. Parents and children learn together the social, academic and classroom skills needed for school success.

Registration for fall sessions is now open. For more information, visit our website.
