Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, How much do you really know about our Catholic faith? Does belief in God make sense today? How well do you think that you know Jesus as a person? What might you do

to come to know Jesus better? These questions and so much more, are discussed in RCIA. What is RCIA? The letters stand for “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” which is adult preparation for the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation. If you have not yet received these Sacraments and would like to, please join us! So now some of you are probably thinking; I am already a Catholic, I have already been Baptised, had First Communion and been Confirmed. I don’t need to attend these sessions. I thought so too but there are so many wonderful things to learn about our Church and our Catholic faith! Please join us on Sundays at 10:30 - 11:45 AM. There are sessions in Spanish and in English. Las letras representan "Rito de Iniciación Cristiana de Adultos" que es preparación para adultos para los Sacramentos del Bautismo, Primera Comunión y Confirmación. Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time: In today’s Gospel we hear how Jesus “makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!” In living the gospel, we must open our ears to hear and

recognize all the everyday opportunities for making God’s presence known especially to those who are poor and suffering. On September 9, the Church also celebrates the feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Frederic heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can “make God’s presence known” to those who are suffering and poor?
