Acupuncture is a system of healing that has been practiced for thousands of years. Its aim is to stimulate the body to heal itself. To balance the 'Chi' energy that flows around the body. This is achieved by carefully placing needles on acupuncture points which can be mapped out along meridians. Meridians are energy lines running over the body. The needles used are single use and sterile.

Diagnosis is both holistic and specific to each patient and should be considered complementary rather than alternative as it can be used alongside conventional medicine in most cases.

Acupuncture can be used to treat and improve many conditions including migraines, sinuses, stress, nausea, indigestion, IBS, eczema and asthma. As well as smoking and weight loss. Acupuncture can also be of great help during pregnancy.

Aromatherapy massage is a wonderfully relaxing massage treatment, using essential oils distilled from plants, allowing you to completely unwind, rebalance your energy and release any stress.

Aromatherapy massage is particularly suited to conditions involving stress or improving emotionally-related conditions.

Aromatherapy can also help to relieve digestive and circulatory complaints, migraine and headaches, sinus complaints, acne, rheumatism and more.

Bach Flower Remedies is a complete system of 38 remedies, each prepared from non -poisonous wild flowers, trees and shrubs. They work by treating the individual rather than the disease or its symptoms. The purpose of the remedies is to support the patient's fight against illness by addressing the emotional factors like depression, anxiety and trauma that are thought to impede physical healing. They can also be used preventatively, at times of anxiety and stress, and are particularly helpful for the many people who feel generally tired and unwell without a specific medical diagnosis. The remedies may be taken on their own or in conjunction with other treatments.

Sports Massage is a specific type of massage which is generally rendered before, during, and after athletic events but also for those with general structural problems, to help prepare the athlete for desired performance, to relax the nerves and prevent injuries. This type of massage can be rendered only by a professional who has a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology and particularly the muscular and skeletal systems.

Sports Massage works deep to eliminate toxins embedded in muscle fibres, remove adhesions, and minimize scar tissue build up. Muscle lengthening in sports massage helps restore a range of motion and overall flexibility. Sports massage also leads to improved circulation which aids better cell nutrition, greater elasticity of muscle fibre, and reduced recovery time.

As a result of a hectic lifestyle many people do not have time or energy to completely relax. Relaxation Therapy not only treats the client but also educates them into using the knowledge and techniques of relaxation for themselves. The therapist works on a one-to-one basis with the client. A session will be spent discussing lifestyle, allowing the therapist to gain some insight into their underlying problems. Subsequent sessions will take the client through techniques including; exercise of the mind and body, sleep and meditation, relaxation through visualisation and relaxation through smell.

Relaxation Therapy

Reiki is a form of touch therapy in which the therapist uses both laying on of the hands and distant healing techniques. The therapist treats those parts of the body he or she senses are emitting weak energy, by laying their hands close to the site of the problem. This enables energy to start to flow through the therapist’s hands to the patient.

Hypnosis is a feeling that 95% of the population experience naturally. This feeling is likened to the very relaxed feeling you have when you are in between Awake and Sleep. When you are in a Hypnotic state, your mind accesses the unconscious part of the brain(90%) and allows your mind to see images of experiences that may/may not have occurred, things that you may have read in a book or in a paper. When out of Hypnosis, your brain may make these images disappear, only when you go back into hypnosis are these areas accessed once again. Thus enabling one to forget issues such as being a smoker or having an addiction etc... Clinical Hypnotherapy can help rectify many issues, including Clinical. The most well known issues include Weight Loss and Smoking Cessation in addition to many other ailments. If you are planning on Losing Weight or Stopping Smoking we can give you the help you need. Call now for your FREE Initial Consultation. Workshops, Courses and One-2-Ones now available.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, and the effects of these disorders on the functions of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments including spinal adjustments and other joint and soft tissue manipulation (World Federation of Chiropractic, 2001)

Chiropractors treat conditions such as back, neck and shoulder problems, joint, posture and muscle problems, leg pain, sciatica, sports injuries, headaches just to name a few.

Chiropractors take a holistic approach to your health and wellbeing which means as well as treatment, you may be given advice about exercise, lifestyle and activity.

What happens on your first visit?

Your first visit with the chiropractor will take approxi-mately one hour which will include a full health history, physical examination and a report of findings with your diagnosis and treatment options. You may or may not be given treatment on the first visit this will be determined by the chiropractor at the time.

Your second and any other subsequent visits will normally take 15 minutes and will usually involve treatment and checking of any exercises or advice given to you by the chiropractor regarding your condition. The number of visits you need will depend on your diagnosis, the length of time you have had the condition and your response to the treatment.

Chiropractors in the UK are regulated by the General Chiropractic Council (www.gcc-uk.org)

The resulting change that the client feels after a TFH energy balance are truly amazing. Posture is improved, pains reduced, stress alleviated and the client feels more focused. The TFH process can also be used to test fro people’s food and chemical sensitivities.

Counselling takes place when a counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. It is always at the request of the client as no one can properly be 'sent' for counselling. By listening attentively and patiently the counsellor can begin to perceive the difficulties from the client's point of view and can help them to see things more clearly, possibly from a different perspective. Counselling is a way of enabling choice or change or of reducing confusion. It does not involve giving advice or directing a client to take a particular course of action. Counsellors do not judge or exploit their clients in any way. In the counselling sessions the client can explore various aspects of their life and feelings, talking about them freely and openly in a way that is rarely possible with friends or family. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief and embarrassment can become very intense and counselling offers an opportunity to explore them, with the possibility of making them easier to understand. The counsellor will encourage the expression of feelings and as a result of their training will be able to accept and reflect the client's problems without becoming burdened by them. Acceptance and respect for the client are essentials for a counsellor and, as the relationship develops, so too does trust between the counsellor and client, enabling the client to look at many aspects of their life, their relationships and themselves which they may not have considered or been able to face before. The counsellor may help the client to examine in detail the behaviour or situations which are proving troublesome and to find an area where it would be possible to initiate some change as a start. The counsellor may help the client to look at the options open to them and help them to decide the best for them.

Counselling
