Fig. 1: Type 3591-1 Control Valve
Fig. 2: Type 3591-5 Control Valve
Type 3591 Globe Valve operated with • Type 3271 Pneumatic Actuator (Type 3591-1 Control Valve)
for integral positioner attachment • Pneumatic piston actuator (Type 3591-5 Control Valve)
Special features: • Flanged-in seat for quick maintenance • Balanced to handle high differential pressures
Valve body made of • Cast steel • Cast stainless steel • High-temperature cast steel • Cold-resisting cast steel
Low-noise valve piston • Metal seal • High-performance metal seal (on request)
The control valves, designed according to the modular assembly principle, can be equipped with various accessories:Positioners, limit switches, solenoid valves and other accessories according to IEC 60534-6-1 and NAMUR recommendation (see Information Sheet u T 8350 EN).
VersionsStandard version (Fig. 1) · Globe valves for temperatures ranging from –10 to 220 °C (other temperature ranges possible)Type 3591-1 · Type 3591 Valve and Type 3271 Pneumatic Ac-tuator (see Data Sheets u T 8310-1 EN and u T 8310-2 EN)Type 3591-5 · Type 3591 Valve and pneumatic piston actuator
Further versions • Welding ends or welding-neck ends • Multi-hole cage for noise reduction • Insulating section (details on request) • Additional handwheel · See Data Sheets u T 8310-1 EN, u T 8310-2 EN and u T 8310-3 EN
Other versions (on request) • Type 3591-3 Valve with Hand-operated Valve • Type 3591-4 Electric Control Valve • Type 3591-6 Valve with hydraulic piston actuator
Series 590Type 3591 Globe Valve
ANSI version
ApplicationMaintenance-friendly cage valve for process engineering ap-plications with high industrial requirementsValve sizes NPS 10 to 32Pressure rating Class 150 to 900Temperatures –46 to 500 °C
2 T 8075-2 EN
Principle of operationThe medium flows through the valve in the direction indicated by the arrow. The position of the valve piston determines the cross-sectional area of the cage.Pressure balancing is mandatory.
Fail-safe actionDepending on how the compression springs are arranged in the pneumatic actuator, the valve has two fail-safe positions effective upon air supply failure.
Actuator stem extends (fail-close)The valve is closed upon air supply failure.
Actuator stem retracts (fail-open)The valve is opened upon air supply failure.
Note:Fig. 3 shows a configuration example.
