But anyone who says, 'You fool!' will be in danger of the fire of hell. Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift." Women's Fall Retreat RecapAlthough we’ve heard having “no filter” is not good, the wrong kind of filters can dim our light to the world and our circle of influence. They can also block our connection to God. Gossip. Pride. Perfectionism. Busyness. Chaos. Negative self-talk. Filters can even keep us from really listening and helping others with their problems. Kathy Bishop of Wichita did an excellent job encouraging us to remove these filters so that we can see the woman God sees and do the works He created us to do. To not just GO through life, but to GROW through life.Women from their 20s-70s enjoyed get-acquainted activities, worship time, challenging/humorous talks, small group discussions, and delicious meals together. Optional activities included a campfire, a sunrise hike, and making earrings. Our (almost) 24 hours in the Red Rock Canyon provided time to meet new friends, reconnect with others, and just get away.A big thanks to the retreat committee—Allison Cassady, Erin Engelke, Amanda Kenney, Zina Siemer, and Robin Waugh—as well as the discussion group leaders, worship leaders, and others who helped put together this quality time for our women. We can’t wait for the next one! ~Lori Walle
