Our Budgeting Process is a Spiritual Work While our shepherds will present the 2020 church budget to us on December 1, the prayer-driven process to dream about next year’s ministry plans began in August. Ministry Directors meet in late summer to monitor current giving trends, review year-to-date spending, and to discuss where we believe the Lord is leading us in the coming year. These men and women then spend several months working with their own leaders and volunteers to build their area budgets from the ground up. Seeking the Spirit’s guidance, they constantly ask these questions: How can we serve the greatest number of people? How do we involve more members of our body, empowering them to use their giftedness for God? And, how can we increase our Kingdom impact for Christ’s glory? After rigorous planning, our Ministry Directors review their budgets with their elder-oversight committees. In October, the Ministry Directors meet to finalize the proposed budget, which is then submitted to the whole eldership for approval. The elders then monitor contributions during January and February before the final adoption of the new budget. Our budgeting process is spiritual, thorough, and collaborative. Special thanks go to Tammy McKeever, our Business Manager, and Brent Williams, our Finance Ministry Director, who help facilitate the process. Brent has just recently been asked to serve in this volunteer role, replacing Greg Schaefer who is now one of our shepherds. Please pray for this important work. May the Kingdom grow, and the Lord be glorified through our generosity.
