Our students are adults who want to improve their basic

knowledge in French or in computing.

First of all, you must think about your professional life.

• To have a career goal, you must spend some serious time thinking

about yourself. What you can do, love to do, want to do. This self-

analysis step is very important.

• Don‟t search for the answers right now. Feel free to ask questions with

an open mind. Feel free to ask yourself questions you never ask before.

• The main question is « How can I improve my skills, update it, maintain

it at the same level or get one. »

• Think of yourself as a value for the company. What is your ability to

create value for an employer.

• Be curious, get information about your sector of work

A successful job search is a matter of attitude. A positive

attitude is the cause of a successful job search, not the

result.

Employers are looking for people who believe in

themselves and in their skills, who want to work, who

want to work for them, and who generally have a positive

attitude.

Feel good about yourself. This is the key to a positive attitude. The points that follow are ways of helping you feel good about yourself.

Talk positively about yourself and your abilities. You know the story about the little engine that could, right?

What you believe about yourself is the foundation of all your future actions.

Your are marketing yourself

Every sentence, every word in your CV has

to be useful. If not, it shouldn‟t appear in it.

Employers will scan a resume for less than 30 seconds to decide

considering the applicant. He will read those left after.

Some may use an automated scan instead to short list resumes and

get your resume in the „for consideration‟ pile.

A resume is a "snapshot" of your personality and needs to be:

Written with the employer‟s interests in mind

Professional in appearance

Targeted for a particular job or organization

"Letter-perfect." Spelling and grammar mistakes can mean an

automatic trip to the reject pile

An honest and clear demonstration of your skills, abilities and

achievements
