Service held in the

Richmond Chapel, Carterton

on Friday 10th January 2014 at 2.00pm.

followed by private cremation.

Celebrant:

Barrie Allom

Gathering:, ‘You’ll never walk alone.’ - Foster and Allen

Welcome and introduction:

Time for remembrance:

Reading: ‘When tomorrow starts without me.’

- read by Barry Wellington (son-in-law)

When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see

If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today

While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say

I know how much you love me as much as I love you

And each time that you think of me I know you’ll miss me too

So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart

For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart

Reflection: “Now is the hour” - Foster and Allen

Thanksgiving:

Looking ahead:

Memory can tell us only what we were,

In company with those we loved;

It cannot help us find out what each of us,

Alone, must now become.

Yet, no person is really alone;

Those who live no more still echo

Within our thoughts and words,

And what they did has become

Woven into what we are.

By Richard Fife.

- read by Gina Wood (grand daughter)

Music: “The lonely shepherd” – Pan Pipes

Reading: “Her journey’s just begun”

- read by Kathryn Hickson (grand daughter)

Don’t think of her as gone away, her journey’s just begun

Life holds so many facets this earth is only one…

Just think of her as resting, from the sorrows and the tears

In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years.

Think of how she must be wishing that we could know today

How nothing but our sadness can really pass away.

And think of her as living in the hearts of those she touched…

For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.

Farewell and Committal:

Song: “An Irish Blessing”

- sung by Bailey Holtham (great grand daughter)

Recessional: “I’ll leave this world loving you” - Dennis Marsh
