Olympus Care Services provides high quality support to people living with dementia, through its range of specialist dementia services.

We offer person-centred care which helps individuals to maintain optimum independence and live safely in their own homes.

Olympus Care Services welcomes customers referred by Northamptonshire County Council, as well as individuals who are self-funding and feel that they would benefit from our support.

Olympus Care Services is able to provide a fully integrated and complete specialist community dementia care service to its customers.

We can offer a fully personalised arrangement which can include:

• Wellbeing centres to support the person, their family and carers

• Community occupational therapy

• Assistive technology and equipment for the home which we will install to help people live safely with dementia

• Home Care support to make sure our customers live well with dementia.

Enabling Customers To Live Independently At HomeOur caring and compassionate home care team gently supports customers to get the most out of life.

We provide a responsive service and closely monitor and adjust our levels of care as our customers’ needs progress and their requirements change.

By developing and tailoring a comprehensive support programme to each individual, our specially trained carers help customers to maintain their independence by patiently encouraging them to complete everyday tasks themselves and providing reassuring help and support with anything that can no longer be undertaken.

These are just some of the ways we can help:

• Arranging the home environment to ensure personal safety through practical dementia care solutions

• Personal care including washing and dressing

• Planning, preparing and cooking meals

• Household chores including cleaning

• Shopping

• Managing, ordering and administering medications

• Organising and attending medical appointments

• Managing personal finances such as banking and paying bills

• Help with social interaction and maintaining social contacts.

Helping Mrs Price Life Safely At Home - Mrs Price lives alone and has done so for many years; she has no family in this country and no close friends. Having been independent all her life, Mrs Price was finding it increasingly difficult to get out of the house and started to show problems with her daily living skills.

Olympus Care Services’ Specialist Team now support Mrs Price to live safely and independently at home. She is visited regularly and helped with personal care, daily living tasks, medications, shopping and maintaining social contacts.

Mrs Price was reluctant to receive any help at first, over time she has come to accept that her Olympus carers are helping her to live safely and independently at home. She also now looks forward to going out to the wellbeing centre every week, something she refused to do before the support of the Specialist Team.

Specialist Dementia Wellbeing CentresOlympus Care Services has specialist day opportunities in Corby and Northampton which provide safe and stimulating environments and promote independence through social, emotional and practical support.

The Drayton Centre in Northampton and The West Glebe Centre in Corby are warm and welcoming places led by professional and highly skilled specialist dementia care teams.

Person-Centred Care And Support All Olympus Care Services’ specialist dementia care is person-centred and focused on ensuring customers can decide in how they are supported. Together, we develop and work towards a personalised care plan which helps our customers achieve specific goals and improve their quality of life. Through gentle encouragement and patience, our highly skilled staff have achieved excellent results.

Each of our centres provide practical, emotional and social support including:

• Personal care; fully accessible bathing facilities, showers and toilets

• Nutritious, freshly prepared lunch*

• Cognitive stimulation therapy and sensory equipment*

• Pet therapy*

• Group and individual activities and gentle exercises

• Safe and secure garden area for relaxing and gardening projects

• Onsite hairdressing, chiropody and nail therapy.

Supporting Families And CarersOlympus Care Services is committed to working with its customers, their carers and families, to deliver high quality specialist dementia care.

Day opportunities provide informal carers, such as family and friends, with a break and together we work to develop the best way of providing care for our customers.

We also organise an informal monthly Carers Support Group; an informative and supportive environment to meet other people and an opportunity to listen to professional guest speakers.
