The 73rd edition of theC o k e C o u n t y J u n i o rLivestock Show was heldthis past weekend at theSterling Lindsey MemorialExh ib i t i on Bu i ld ing i nRobert Lee. This year’s showfeatured animals in theMarket Lamb, Market Goat,Market Swine and MarketSteer shows, but moreimportantly 47 youth exhibi-tors from around the county.
The action began Fridaywith Rachel Everheart gar-ner ing bo th the GrandChampion and Rese rveGrand Champion Lambtitles. This was followed byRachel winning both theG r a n d C h a m p i o n a n dReserve Grand ChampionGoat titles.
On Saturday morning, ZachSkinner won the top spot inthe Swine Show with hisentry being named GrandChampion Hog. ReserveGrand Champion Hog wasexhibited by Trace Oleksiuk.
The Steer Show followedwith another win for RachelEverheart as she showed herEuropean Cross s teer toGrand Champion S tee r.James Roberts took home theReserve Grand ChampionSteer title with his entry.

Pipeline Groundbreaking! Robert Lee Mayor John Jacobs was joined by City andCounty officials, State Representative Drew Darby, USDA representatives, Vermeer represen-tatives, engineers for the project, and many others at the long awaited groundbreaking cere-mony for the water pipeline from Robert Lee to Bronte. The ceremony was held Friday,January 20, 2012, at 1:30 pm near the beginning of the west end of the pipeline. Volunteersare installing approximately five miles of the water transmission line along Highway158. If you would like to volunteer to help lay the pipe, cover the pipe, provide foodand drinks, etc. please contact Robert Lee City Hall at 325-453-2831.
