Recreation Committee

A. Membership: Six (6) members, with

Minister of Youth, Children and Activities as ex-officio member.

B. This committee will be responsible for

scheduling and supervising events and

recreational activities for Christian

Outreach and Activities Center.

C. Development of policies and programs

for recreational activities for all ages.

D. Prepare and oversee recreational

budget.

C. Each prospective committee member will be required to have a background check by the Boy Scouts of America.

D. Each member will attend a Youth Protection Class and a training class on Scouting guidelines and rules (a combined 6 hours of training).

E. Provide financial oversight and support, conduct financial audits.

F. Ensure all pack/troop leaders are professing Christians and are active members of a local church and that they perform in accordance with church and scout guidelines.

G. Determine availability and use of church facilities.

H. Determine pack/troop size limits.

I. Approve any fundraising activities conducted by the pack/troop.

The purpose of this program is to keep the missions before us all year long, not just a couple times a year. Money collected is split between US and foreign missions. FBC mails out checks monthly to these missions.

Our guest speaker, Ruth McWhite, is sure to bless you through testimony and her love

for the Word of Jesus Christ.

Ruth is originally from Greer, SC, where she grew up at First

Baptist Church. She and her husband, Allen, have pastored

churches in Manning, Spartanburg and Taylors, SC. They

also served two terms with the IMB in Ecuador.

She is currently the Director of Women’s ministries at North

Greenville University. She has a great passion to see women

come into a relationship with Christ and then grow in that

relationship through the knowledge of His Word.

She makes her home in Travelers Rest, SC. She is the mother of five children, but is

down to only one child living at home! However, her family is multiplying, as three

children have married wonderful spouses and have provided seven precious

grandchildren! So life iS full and good in the McWhite household!
