WELCOME TO COMMUNITY CHURCH
A United Methodist Congregation
WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
MUSIC LEADING TO WORSHIP “How Majestic Is Your Name”
• CALL TO WORSHIP - Based on Psalm 100
ONE: Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. ALL: Worship the Lord with gladness; come into God’s presence with singing. ONE: Know that the Lord is God. God made us, and we are God’s people. ALL: Enter God’s house with thanksgiving and praise. ONE: Thank God and bless God’s holy name. ALL: The Lord is good. God’s love is steadfast and endures forever. ONE: God’s faithfulness knows no boundary, no end. ALL: Praise the Lord! Let us worship with our whole hearts.
• OPENING HYMN UMH # 73 “O Worship the King”
• GATHERING PRAYER
Gracious and all-powerful God, we come before you acknowledging you as King, and in so doing, acknowledge ourselves as your people. Through the life of your Son, Jesus Christ, you showed yourself to be a Servant-King, a King for whom love and mercy, humility and grace, faith and faithfulness were a way of life, and you call us to the same. Remind us that it is in self-sacrifice, not in self-promotion, that we will find joy; that it is in our weaknesses that we will receive your Spirit and be made strong; that it is in giving up our delusions of control and trusting in you that we will find the peace and security which we so desper-ately seek. Our hope is in you, O Lord, in hearing the voice of our Good Shepherd and in following where you lead. Grant us the wisdom and the courage to listen and obey. AMEN!
• SINGING OUR FAITH UMH # 327 v 1 “Crown Him with Many Crowns” Crown him with many crowns, the Lamb upon his throne. Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own. Awake, my soul, and sing of him who died for thee, And hail him as thy matchless king through all eternity.
SHARING OF PRAYER AND PRAISE
PREPARING TO PRAY UMH # 381 v 1 “Savior, Like a Shepherd Lead Us” Savior, like a shepherd lead us, much we need thy tender care;
In thy pleasant pastures feed us, for our use thy folds prepare. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, thine we are. Blessed Jesus, blessed Jesus, Thou hast bought us, thine we are.
PRAYERS OF GOD’S PEOPLE - THE LORD’S PRAYER UMH # 895 (You are invited to the altar rail to pray)
BRINGING OUR GIFTS AND OFFERINGS TO THE LORD CONSECRATION OF RADICAL GENEROSITY RESPONSES 8:30 “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” 11:00 “10,000 Reasons” Chancel Choir
• SONG OF THANKSGIVING UMH # 140 chorus “Great Is Thy Faiithfulness” Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Holiday Helping Hands You can bless a local family in need this Christmas by buying a child a special Christmas
gift. Cards with the children’s Wishes and Needs are now available on the tree in the
MMR. Requests come in a wide range of prices and are typical of what other kids of similar
ages desire. If you don't see a card in your price range, please consider partnering with
someone to buy the gift(s). Don't like to shop? Monetary donations are also wel-
come. Checks should be made out to CUMC with a note for HHH. Gifts (please do NOT
wrap) must be returned by December 10th. Contact Amy Frey if you would like to sponsor
siblings or know of someone in need. (724-689-7933 or [email protected])
2018 Intent to Give This past weekend, we asked those worshiping with us to complete their Intent to Give cards
for 2018. If you still need to turn in your Intent to Give, we hope that you have prayerfully
considered what you will give financially to the church in the name of Jesus. Please make
your giving estimates as soon as possible as your giving estimates will set our budget for
ministry next year. Intent to Give cards are available at the welcome centers. If you’d like to
complete your estimate of giving online, you can do so by visiting this website:

Building News Update!
As we’ve taken time this week to celebrate our many blessings, we thought we’d take a mo-
ment to be thankful for different aspects of our building project. We are thankful that the re-
taining wall is nearing completion. We give thanks for the office suite basement slab that was
poured and the steel that was delivered for the construction in that area. As we worship,
study and serve in comfort, we are thankful that the HVAC systems are operational. Caisson
drilling and other foundation work aspects are progressing as anticipated, and we are thank-
ful for the firm base they will provide for our church. We are thankful for the safety of everyone
working on these projects, and we are thankful for each person who has lifted this church in
prayer. May we never take our many blessings for granted!
As you make your way into Community Church’s parking lot from Route 130, please
remember that there is still only ONE entrance into the campus from Route 130. We’ve always
had one entrance, and that has not changed with construction. We’ve noticed that some
people have been entering our campus from Route 130 closer to the Ministry House. That is
an exit only location, and entering our campus near the Ministry House could cause confu-
sion, traffic congestion or even an accident. As always, we ask that you take your time, pay
attention to signs and use extreme caution in the parking lot.

Capital Campaign Update!
235 Cards Returned
$2,189,404.00 Pledge Total
$1,383,402.00 Total Given To Date
We are so thankful for your faithful giving. Every dollar you’ve given is a show of support and
confirmation that you stand with Community Church and share in the vision that we are carrying
out to Follow Jesus and Lead Others to Him. Because of your willingness to give sacrificially to this
campaign, we are pleased to say that we have not had to borrow any money to fund construction
to this point! This means we have not had to incur any interest charges, saving us an untold amount
of money.
While we anticipate borrowing money eventually, it is our prayer that we can extend the time be-
fore we borrow money for as long as possible so we can continue construction without incurring
interest charges. How can you help?
• Please continue to faithfully give to the building fund as you’ve been called.
• Prayerfully consider increasing your pledge.
• If you’re considering year end giving for tax purposes, your financial gift to the
building fund will help accomplish that goal.
Again, we can’t fully express our thankfulness and appreciation for your support in this call to reach
lives in the name of Jesus. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this campaign, please
don’t hesitate to ask. Modifying your pledge for this campaign is as easy as confidentially contact-
ing Financial Secretary Melanie Barrett at
[email protected] or 724-392-4212.
