Located on the south shore of Lake Erie, Sand this area is rich in history and natural beauty and resources. You can enjoy boating, fishing fishing, birding, touring, sports, amusements, shopping, gardens, and hiking. In addition to our always informative and enriching business sessions, we have planned no great fun, entertainment and delicious meals.

Our headquarters will be the remarkable Kalahari Resort and Convention Center located just south of Sandusky off of US Route 250 (Milan) and very accessible by car from State Rt. 2 or the Ohio Turnpike. The Kalahari Resort is a beautiful and unique location for a convention; offering scrupulous service, delicious food, myriad entertainments, a delightful spa, an Animal Park, nine restaurants of great variety and the world’s largest indoor water park – what more could you ask for? We will have rooms in the Sands North Wing on 6 floors. Please enter at the Sands Entrance as the resort is providing our group with a private registration area.

Hut Room: $139 plus tax. Two queen beds, work desk, and patio/balcony with furniture. Four Guests. Lodge Room: $179 plus tax. One king bed, queen sofa sleeper, living room grouping with fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, dining room set, whirlpool tub, 2 TVs, patio/balcony with furniture. Four Guests. Combination Suite: $299 plus tax. The total combination of a Lodge and one Hut room. Eight Guests. Village Suite: $459 plus tax. The total combination of a Lodge and two Huts. Twelve Guests. Deadline to place orders is May 10, 2017. FORMAL BANQUET The Formal Banquet, “Winter Masquerade” will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2017. Social at 6:00 PM. Dress is formal. No fez. Meal choices are on the registration form. If you have special dietary needs please let us know. FUN NIGHT Fun Night is Monday, May 22, 2017. GRAND CHORUS Rehearsals will be held on Saturday, May 19th from 3:00 to 5:00 PM; Monday, May 21st from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM; Tuesday, May 22nd from 9:30 to 11:30 AM and Friday, May 24th immediately after the close of the Session. Rehearsals will be held in the Aloeswood Room. GRAND FAMILY RECEPTION The Grand Family Reception will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 7:30 PM. This is your opportunity to meet and visit with your Grand Officers and Past Grand High Priestesses. GRAND OUTER GUARD ELECT RECEPTION The reception for the Grand Outer Guard – Elect will be held immediately following the Formal Banquet Thursday, May 25th. Please check the Official Program Book for location. LUNCHEONS – General, Class and All Members The General Luncheon and all Class Luncheons will be on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at noon. Check the Official Program Book for the room assignments. Please wear your fez. The theme for the General Luncheon is “A Victorian Tea”. PARKING Self Parking is free at Kalahari Resorts. Valet parking is available. PHOTOS Mary Lou Bantley is the official photographer for this session. Please refer to the official Program Book for the picture schedules. PROGRAM BOOK When placing your advertisement on the enclosed form, please remember to write your Name, Title as of May 2017. Write Court name and No. on back of all photos for identification. In order for your advertisement to be included in the Official Grand Council Session Program Book, we must have your advertisement print ready no later than March 1, 2017.

RECORDER / TREASURER BREAKFAST There will be a breakfast on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 8:00 AM in the Orange Room. Following breakfast there will be a short seminar given by our Grand Recorder, Lady Marsha Maxwell, PGHP and our Grand Treasurer, Lady Annette Lesser, PGHP. Please wear your fez.

TOURS: Several tours are available for your pleasure; please refer to the enclosed “Tours” form. TRANSPORTATION: See letter and Ladies’ Registration Form.

UNIT LEADERS BREAKFAST There will be a Unit Leaders breakfast on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 8:00 AM in the Nile Room. The drawing for drills will be held immediately following the breakfast. All music must be turned in - please label your CD’s. If you do not attend or are late in submitting your drill form, your unit will be placed at the end of the drills. Please wear your fez. Mobility – Reserve a scooter before April 30 and receive ½ off delivery/pickup to the Kalahari. Mention Ladies Shrine when you call OE Meyer. Ask about your scooter when you check in.

SIGHTSEEING TOURS

We are pleased to present some of the best that the North Coast has to offer in the way of tours. We have some all day and some ½ day tours for your selection. Any of these tours will give you a great way to see our Lake Erie Shores and Islands. All of the tour destinations are online and you can get a look-see ahead of time to make your decision. Any of these tours will be worth the time, cost, and visit. All prices for tours are per person.

NorthCoast Grapevine Tour: Saturday May 20, 2017

Leave Kalahari @ 10:30am. Visit the North Coast grapevines and taste some excellent samples. 3 different tour stops; Mon Ami, one of the most popular in the Shores area, Paper Moon, where we will eat lunch which is included in your tour price, and Vermillion Valley where the head vintner is the youngest in the country and also a Mason. Cost of the tastings at each stop is included in your price. Come see what the North Coast produces. You won’t be disappointed. Plus a chance to make any purchases you wish at each stop. , Arrive back at Kalahari 6:00pm (Look these stops up on google ahead of time.) (Maximum for tour 50) All attendees must be 21 or over and able to prove it for this tour.

This trip includes door to door pick up and return to Kalahari, 3 tours, tastings at each tour, lunch at one of the stops, and time to make purchases at each stop. Put-in-Bay Tour Train Sunday May 21, 2017 Leave Kalahari @ 10:30am. Leave Port Clinton Dock Jet Express to island 11:45am where we will be greeted by our trolley tour guide. Travel the island by trolley with our personal narrator with stops at 3 attractions; Perry’s Monument Visitors Center, Lake Erie Islands Historical Museum, and Butterfly House and Antique Car Museum, lunch voucher, and plenty of time to shop the unique island boutique shops. This is a must visit each summer for area residents. Put-in-Bay is often called the Key West of the North and you will agree after you visit! Leave the docks @ 6:30pm and arrive back at Kalahari at approximately 7pm. (Maximum for tour 54) Hayes Presidential Center Sunday May 21, 2017 Leave Kalahari at 11:15am, Arrive at museum at Noon. Visit museum, and guided tour through Hayes home which has been restored to its original grandeur. This home is beautiful and a perfect look back at another time. The museum has been newly renovated for the 2016 100th anniversary. It is a trip well worth the time, with beautiful grounds and house and informative museum. There is also a gift shop for your shopping enjoyment. We will arrive back at Kalahari at 4:00pm. (Maximum for tour 40) Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Monday May 22, 2017 How can anyone visit Ohio and NOT visit the famous Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They will have a brand new exhibit starting in May. Leave Kalahari 9:45am. Arrive at Hall of Fame at 11am. Tour on your own and lunch at the Hall of Fame on your own. Leave Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 3:30pm for trip back to Kalahari. Arrive Kalahari approximately 5:00pm. Who hasn’t heard about this fun place?! (Maximum for tour 54) Liberty Aviation Museum Monday May 22, 2017 Leave Kalahari 10:30am. Arrive at the museum at 11am with the tour immediately upon arrival. Whether or not you are an aviation buff this is a sure to please tour of the museum including some fun and historical planes, and a great history of aviation which will be sure to keep you captivated. This museum has many historical planes Including a 1927 Ford Tri-Motor. They participate at the annual OshKosh EAA convention. They also host many “throw back” parties, dances, and fun evenings. Lunch will be on the grounds in a really cute “retro diner” called the Tin Goose Diner! Leave at 2pm and arrive back at Kalahari approximately 2:30pm (Maximum for tour 40) ADDITIONAL: A “walk on” Fishing Charter is available for anyone wishing to fish. Reservations on your own and weather permitting. Sawmill Creek Golf Course will have some available times for golf during the week as well. Reservations on your own and weather permitting. Per the Bylaws of the Grand Council of the Ladies’ Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc. Article III, Section 9(a). Members planning to attend Grand Council Session must pre-register. A written cancellation must be made at least five (5) days prior to the Grand Council Session in order to receive refund, EXCEPT in case of severe illness or death when a written request shall be received no later than twenty-one (21) days following the closing of The Grand Council Session. In any event, no consideration will be given a request for refund if not submitted as herein provided. All refunds subject to a five dollar ($5.00) service charge.

Everyone is welcome – Classes, Courts, Units, Members, Guests. Come join us for friendship, food, and fun.
