Wearables Definition

According to me, wearables are not just trendy, they are a real

use for both hotel, operators and guests. Wearables are

accessories like t-shirts, glasses, watches etc. that have high

technologies and advanced features which are very practical.

My understanding of the concept

My idea of wearable

- high-tech sunglasses like co-branded with Marc Jacobs for

example that would allow the hotel to inform the guests on

resorts islands regarding the temperature. Like for example

when the sun is at its highest impact on the skin, when the

next excursions will start (scuba diving, jetski etc..).

It would also inform the guests on what are the menus, happy

hours, spa discounts and when there room is cleaned or if they

can have a late check out or receive an information they have

asked at the desk.

Conncected to the internet,

The sunglasses will have earplugs that will allow the guests to listen to their own playlist or music for example.

They will also be able to order directly from the bar and restaurant.The guests on resorts will also be able to program the language of the sunglasses program and have their messages directly translated to the reception to avoid any misunderstanding from both sides.

So the advantages for the hotel are that the reception is most likely to be

less crowded and they will have less people asking for the spa discounts

or for the menu so they have more free time to welcome guests and really

focus on the operational and functionning of the hotel, trying to give the

best possible service.

The advantages for the guests is that they can really feel alone and enjoy

their stay on the resort island withouht having to wait in line at reception

to have an information. They can have the best rates and discounts and

latest news regarding what is happening in the hotel and also have the

menus and happy hours all of this while wearing a trendy accessory that

will avoid them having their phone out at the beach because it is a well-

known fact that smartphones do not like high temperatures, so it will also

protect their device.
