Seville

My text is about Seville, a city of Andalusia (Spain) where I was born and I have always lived. Actually, I live in a little town near to Seville called Mairena del Aljarafe. However, I am in Seville every day.Firstly, I would like speak about its history. In Seville many civilizations have been and each of them left something of their culture and traditions. Romans arrived in 200 Christ before, where they called it Hispalis. They built the forum and an important rampart. After that, Muslims came who fought much with Vikings. Muslims were in Seville until 1248 when Christians conquered them. After the discovery of America in 1492, Seville became the economic center of the Spanish Empire.There are many kind of monuments due to theses civilizations. Most of buildings such as La catedral de Sevilla, Los Reales Alczares, La Giralda and La Torre del Oro were firstly built by muslims. Although when Christians conquered the city, they didnt destroy those monuments but rebuilt it, improving the structures. For this, it is very interesting see it because that building have muslims and Christians characteristics. On the other hand, Seville has also current monuments. Such as Plaza de Espaa that was built in the Expo of 1929 or Metropol Parasol called the mushrooms of the Encarnacion by the people.In this city, furthermore to visit those monuments if you want to have fun you can do a lot of things. On the one hand, you can go to the amusement park Isla Magica with a lot of attractions and spectacles. If you come in summer, it would better, to go to water park Aquopolis. On the other hand, if you choose spring to go on holiday you should visit the typical festivals which are very famous. There are two main festivals in Seville: the Easter week and Feria de abril. The Easter week of Seville is the Easter most known in the world. It consist of some procession of catholic images about Virgin Maria and Christ. Those procession are taken by costaleros and accompanied by Nazarenes. In my opinion, procession are like art but I dont believe them. Because I am Protestant so we dont believe in images of God.Another important festival is Feria de abril.In the begginig, the fair started as a livestock fair, but more 100 years ago people went to the fair only to have fun. The fair have two main parts, the first is amusent park called calle del infierno with many attractions. The other part is full of stand where people dances Sevillanas, eat, and drink rebujito.In conclusion, Seville have fun for everyone and is beautil all year. Run and come to Seville!
