Project Statement: The design of the Michigan State University Student Union Lounge will create a space that increasesphysical activity among students. The space’s design will encourage physical and mental health as well. The StudentUnion Lounge will display student work in various areas to support the work of Michigan State University’s diversestudent population. The lounge’s design will create a relaxing atmosphere for students to play, study, and hangout in.

Slight Curve is inspired by the design and motionof an airplane. The lamp mimics the wings of aplane with an emphasis on the movement of flight.The fixture creates both direct and indirect lightwith the option of up lighting, down lighting, orboth. Slight Curve is constructed with recycledsteel from airplane parts, Eco-resin and LED striplights. The fixture helps to create privacybetween customers by dividing the counter space.The fixture is customizable in height in order to fitdiffering countertops and settings.

Project Statement: The mission for the RAM Center will be to create spaces in the Conservation Education Building andthe Lake Huron lodging facility that reflect and promote the cultural and natural values and history of the Ralph A.MacMullan Conference Center. It will create a space that attracts diverse groups to engage in business and relaxationwhile fostering a fascination for Michigan’s natural resources by providing an enriching environment for users. Thedesign of the RAM Center will be memorable for Michiganders and continue to be a destination for enhanced learning.
