World Expositions are galleries of human inspirations and thoughts. The first one

was held in 1851 in London, and since then, the World Expositions have attained

increasing prominence as grand events for economic, scientific, technological

and cultural exchanges.

Shanghai Expo 2010 is the first World Expo on the theme of city, focusing on the

theme "Better City, Better Life". For the 184 days of Shanghai Expo, participants

will display urban civilization to the full extent, exchange their experiences of

urban sustainable development, disseminate advanced notions on cities and

explore new approaches to human habitat, lifestyle and working conditions in the

new century. They will learn how to create an eco-friendly society and maintain

the sustainable development of human beings.

For its commitment to sustainable development, a major concern for our planet,

Expo 2010 has attracted governments, international organizations and experts

from all over the world. 70 million visitors are expected, the largest in history!

The Shanghai 2010 Award is an international Business Project competition organized by HEC Paris and Tsinghua SEM Beijing on the occasion of Shanghai Expo 2010.

If you are a student enrolled in a degree pro-gram or you are a young entrepreneur gradu-ated no more than 3 years, YOU are eligible to compete!

Registering as a team of 3 members from the same university. Uploading both registration and contribution by May 12, 2010 (midnight GMT+1). To learn more, see our website!

Innovativeness, and 8.000 words, including Paper, Executive Summary, References and Exhibits! All written in English. Contribute to a sustainable city in the urban environment by focusing on a specific dimen-sion which you consider to be a major busi-ness opportunity. What needs of urban citizens do you want to satisfy ? What is your potential competitive advantage ? Would your Business Project be economically sustainable in a reasonable time frame?

Selection

A panel of experts will grade and identify the top 100 Business Projects and among them the 30 Nominees. The final jury will select the three prize-winning teams among the Nominees.

The three winning teams will be awarded each: A four-day, three-night stay in
