but also a pain, we experienced

Poor performance

Cache problems

Search problems

6 months with troubleshooting to stabilize and improve

A new search engine and new ways of presenting search

results discovered security issues on content

Custom development

New SharePoint strategy in Aker Solutions

“SharePoint as a Service”:

Implemented SharePoint 2013 as a “private cloud” ready to

onboard almost any amount of applications. Using multiple farms

(Service farms for Search and Office Web Applications) we can

share services across applications and build a more standardized

service delivery for SharePoint.

SharePoint governance

Years with SharePoint experience we see the need of stronger

governance and have worked with this parallell with establishing

the SharePoint 2013 platform and SharePoint as a Service

SharePoint strategy established

SharePoint as a platform has an owner

All business applications on the platform are connected to

at least one business driver

All business applications have a business owner and

have a set of policies and controls

Policy for onboarding applications, (develop, test and

deploy)

Governance board run on a regular basis

SharePoint governance

New product portal

We did little or nothing with content types and term store

in first phase, this will come in the project that has started

now

More personalization on intranet

Team sites – probably cloud based
