Main successes drawn from the project

• The storytellers were able to convey the meaning of stories to those with very little English

• Encouraging the sharing of stories gave a purpose and relevance and hence motivation to speak in English

• Respecting many cultures seemed to give confidence to share

• Stories provide lots of structure for the development of vocabulary and language patterns

• Stimulated a lot of discussion, reflection and understanding of different cultures

• Sessions were enjoyable
