Within these pages it ispossible to give only a taste of what we have tooffer at our traditional premises in St. James’s,London where we combine a 21st CenturyPharmacy with our more traditional products ina Victorian setting.

By 1790, D.R. Harris's first apothecary hadbeen established in St. James's Street in theheart of Gentlemen's Clubland. A reputationwas established selling Lavender Water,Classic Cologne and English Flower perfumesto the fashionable quarter of St. James’s andMayfair. Since its foundation this familybusiness has served the gentry and the Courtof St. James and in 1938 was granted the RoyalWarrant as Chemists to Her Majesty QueenElizabeth the Queen Mother. Continuing thetradition, in 2002 D.R. Harris and Co. wasgranted the Royal Warrant as Chemists to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.

Today D.R. Harris provides the modern worldwith a continuity of personalised service andtradition, and an ever widening range ofcolognes, soaps, bath and shavingpreparations for the truly discerning.

All of D.R. Harris's excellent preparations aremade and packed in England. Many of ourproducts are still produced by the sametraditional methods that we have employedover the years, being hand-made and hand-packaged in our own premises in London.

Our preparations are not tested on animals.All of our spray containers are non-aerosol. The traditional container is glass but in manycases we can also supply our products inlightweight plastic containers for theconvenience of travellers.

BATHING

Bath essences, bath oils and soaps whosefragrances permeate warm bathrooms, leavingskin smooth and relaxed.

D.R. Harris soaps are triple-milled to give a long-lasting product lathering in even the hardestwater, thus being universally acceptable.Our renowned Almond Oil Soap is made withalmond oil and lanolin to prevent dryness,delicately fragranced with rose. The Old EnglishLavender Soap is lavender in colour with a lightlavender fragrance. Both are available in atraditional presentation box of three tablets inhand or bath size and Almond Oil as Soap on arope. To compliment our gentlemen’s Arlingtonrange we have a large Arlingon soap, presentedsingly, with or without rope.

Bath essences soften the water and are presentedin a wide range of fragrances to suit all moods,from refreshing Fern or stimulating Pine to restfulFlowers or Rose Geranium, not forgetting His andHers. For a more moisturising result, our Bath oilsare a must. Choose from Lavender, Verbena, Fern,Flowers or Rose Geranium. In either case, a capfulin running water is our recommendation.

A small quantity lathered on thehands and then massaged into the wet hair givesa pleasing result without drying out the hair. Thematching conditioners contain aloe vera and arehighly moisturising. Our Golden Shampoo is mildand suitable for daily use and our MedicatedShampoo is mildly antiseptic, containing both teatree and eucalyptus oils.
