Due to an expand in its commercial activity during the last year, Karmet Bulgaria® Ltd. decided to take the next step and built

a new base with 3 floor x 300m² each and a 500 m² training center.

In our facilities, our customers will have the opportunity to see our machine models in the showroom, to test the working process

of the machine in our production and storage base.

The next planned step for us it to make an additional construction to our base which estimates 1750m².

• Application: widely used in the engineering of metalworking machines tools for the preparation of products by the method of themultilevel bending of metal sheets and strips.

• Application: Single or series production of products of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

• Types depending on the bending material: folding and air bending.

• Application: In practice the air bending is more widespread.

• Bending method: In the construction are included prism (die) with a specific angle, located on the lower beam and knife (punch) forbending with a special profile, located on the top beam. The desired angle of the bending is obtained via pressure of the materialbeing processed, between the upper and lower beam. The depth of penetration of the knife is pre-set.

• Three-point method of bending: it is necessary that the treated sheets have no traces of deformations.

• Depending on the manner of implementation of the pressure: electromechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic.

• Among the parameters affecting the productivity of the press brakes are working stroke, return stroke and the speed of thebackgauge.

The specialists recommend hydraulic press breaks to be with incremental lines for tracking the position of the top beam, ensuring ahigher accuracy of positioning.

The press brakes with bending length over two meters in which there is a requirement of the bending force to be more than a hundredtones, are characterized with deflection, cause by misallocation of the mass in its center and the parallel sides and wrong application ofthe bending force.

This problem is observed in most of the machines. For its removal producers of press brakes offer different technical solutions. One of therelatively often applied is the embedding of anti deflection system (C axis), which can be either manual or CNC motorized.

The process of operation of press brakes with hydraulic drive: top beam is driven by hydraulic cylinders working with hydraulic oil.

Depending on the size hydraulic press brakes can be: stationary or mobile.

Important parameters in the selection of press brake:

force and length of bending. the force of bending depends on the type of material being processed as each material is characterized by a specific coefficient of

elasticity and by the thickness and the length of the work piece. length of bending: The maximum length which the press brake is able to bend. There is a certain difference between the length of

bending and the distance between the columns of the press brake. Usually the distance between the columns is less. When the length of the detail exceeds the distance between the columns of the press brake, it is important to take into consideration

the depth of the throat, as this parameter limits the distance to which it is possible to insert material into the press brake beforereaching the columns.

The main criteria when choosing a guillotine shear is the volume of the production for which it is intended - mass, series (wholesale,medium and small series) or single.Determining factor is also the material with which the machine will operate - carbon steel, stainless steel or non-ferrous metals and alloys(aluminum, brass etc.).Тhe dimensions of the material intended for the processing are essential. It is advisable to draw the attention on the productivity of themachine, principle of operation and type of the motor drives, options for adjusting the blade, systems for the fixing of the material duringthe cutting process, type of control and safety systems.

Guillotine shears come in two basic types - hydraulic and electromechanical.

Hydraulic guillotine shears can be differentiated to swing beam and variable rake guillotine shears.

Hydraulic guillotine with variable rake are constructed on the basis of two hydraulic pistons which carry out a back-and-forth motion ofthe blade. The advantage in this case is that in the independent control of the drive cylinders the angle of the blade can be changed inthe plane X-Z, i.e. change the angle of cutting, and also the number of movements to be programmed within certain limits, unlike othertypes of guillotines, where normally the number of movements per minute is fixed.

ORCA SeriesHydraulic Guillotines

Among the main parameters for selection of guillotine is the thickness of the cutting and the type of material being processed. Usually whenthere is no explicit reference to the type of material it comes to mild steel sheets. If cutting of stainless steels is necessary, it must be takeninto consideration that the thickness of the material should be smaller compared to the mild steel and it requires greater effort whencutting. The following parameter is the length of cutting i.e. what is the longest forging that can be cut by the guillotine. This parameterdepends on the length of the machinery itself and in particular of the length of the guillotine’s table. With very long details an importantparameter is the depth of the throat of the guillotine, because in that case it restricts the maximum width and length of cutting.Defining parameters for the productivity of one guillotine are the length of the backgauge - whether it is manual or automatic. Three of themost important factors affecting the cutting quality are: the blade type, the possibility to adjust the cutting angle and the blade gapadjustment.

The length of the front support arms also appear parameter affecting the cutting quality. To avoid deflection of the material when it is toolong, it is compulsory the length of the front support arms to be adapted to the actual length. Another important element is the existence ofhold down system so that the sheet does not move and to avoid differences in desired size. An important factor for the quality of processingand for the duration of guillotine’s smooth operation is the type of material used for construction of the frame and the type of selectedconstructive solutions for individual and functional systems.

Considering the criteria affecting the choice of guillotine, safety systems in operation of this type of equipment should not beunderestimated.

Important is the presence of a safety system that does not allow the operator to place his hands in the working area where the blade andthe hydraulic hold downs are located .

Complex factor that affects as well the accuracy and the productivity and safety of the guillotine, is the existence of a modern control.

The control may be multifunctional, namely to manage all mechanisms of the guillotine via visualization of the work. The controller can adjust the movement and the position of the backgauge, the angle of the blade, the blade gap, the number of movements of the blade per minute, the automatic lubrication of moving parts and units of the guillotine and the pressure of the hold downs.

Karmet has delivered another TORO PRO Press Brake

Karmet Bulgaria has delivered hydraulic press brake – Toro Pro 3100 200TN.

Toro Pro answers the requirements of the complex manufacture of our client for multipurpose press brake with multi-

axis servo backgauge, high resolution electronic linear scales with sync control, CNC crowning for equal angles

along the entire length of the parts, easy to use graphics controller and last but not least reliable security system.



Press brake TORO BASIC 2600 installed and tested

Between 01.04 and 06.04.2016. KARMET Bulgaria Ltd carried out installation of the hydraulic press brake

TORO BASIC 2600-80TN for our client, who will now have the opportunity to benefit from the high

productivity and easy control of cnc press brake TORO BASIC and to improve its competitiveness.

Advanced Model Hydraulic Guillotine Shear ORCA Pro delivered to new customer

Hydraulic guillotine shear ORCA Pro was delivered and installed between 16 and 19 October 2016.

The advanced model ORCA Pro ensures high accuracy. Important is also the presence of a safety system that does not allow the

operator to place his hands in the working area where the blade and the hydraulic hold downs are located.

Complex factor that affects as well the accuracy and the productivity and safety of the guillotine, is the existence of a modern control.

On 14.09.2016 the technical team of Karmet Bulgaria Ltd. held installation of hydraulic press brake Toro Rapido 1550-40TN

for our loyal client. Toro Rapido is an irreplaceable add-on press brake for continuous production process where there is

need for preparation of small batches without stopping the main production.

During the Technical fair, TORO Pro and ORCA Pro machines triggered serious interest amongst the visitors.

Immediately after the fair we delivered to our customer a hydraulic press brake TORO Pro 3100-175TN and a

hydraulic guillotine shear ORCA Pro 3113.



We delivered an extremely fast electrical servo press brake KARMET SERVALO 3060-100TN

Our customer’s production is really busy and his striving to decrease the production time of the details, lead him to the

right choice which is the extremely fast servo e-brake SERVALO 3060-100TN.

An advantage of the electrical servo press brake SERVALO is that the bending is 30% faster compared to the other

bending technologies, but at the same time the electrical consumption is decreased with 50%. The machine does not

make noise and your orders will be completed fast, easy and extremely quickly without bothering you!



Another delivery of a hydraulic press brake TORO Pro 4100-300TN by Karmet Bulgaria Ltd.

Karmet Bulgaria Ltd. Delivered a hydraulic press brake TORO Pro 4100-300TN to a customer. The machine is with big

working length and bending force and will increase many times the production capacity of the company.

TORO Pro 4100-300TN can bend up to 11mm full length steel sheets and this number can be much more higher if the

detail is smaller. The machine is equipped with a modern CNC, making the work with the machine operator-friendly

and decreasing the production time of the detail.

Hydraulic variable rake guillotine shear ORCA Pro 3120 was delivered to a new customer of “Karmet Bulgaria” Ltd.

We are glad to help our new customer improve its production process. The delivered machine – ORCA Pro 3120, Is

CNC Hydraulic variable rake guillotine shear, which can be used in an everyday rough production environments.

The successful installation of our innovative hydraulic guillotine shear will increase the sheet cutting capacity up to

The International Technical Fair (Sajam Tehnike 2017) in Belgrade, Serbia from May 15th to May 19th 2017, Karmet Bulgaria

Ltd. presented its innovative models of press brakes, Servalo 1530-40TN – a new generation of ecological electrical press

brakes flexible, reliable and with high accuracy.

Extremely short setup time and flexible configuration have been offered by the high configuration Toro Pro 3100 -175TN
