LEARN HOW TO READ SHEET MUSIC IN 7 LESSONS

WORKBOOK

Welcome to the Sheet Music Workbook.

This workbook uses a unique combination of worksheets and practical activities designed to enable you to be able to read sheet music quickly and effectively. It should be completed alongside the “How to Read Sheet Music in 7 easy Lessons” course. The worksheets can be printed off and completed whenever you want. The answers for each worksheet are found in the back of the workbook so you can check you progress.

The practical activities are designed so that you can start to try to play sheet music on your instrument straight away. This is the revolutionary principle of this course...putting your theoretical understanding into practical playing straight away.

My advice is to read a lesson and reflect upon it. Then, test your understanding using the worksheets and try the the practical exercises/pieces on your instrument. Remember, the combination of theory and practical is the key to success.

When you have completed the course there is “The Big Test” for you to sit, together with a certificate of completion.

Good luck!

HOW DID YOU DO?

40-50 marks Congratulations!!That is a fantastic achievement! To be scoring this high after just 7 lessons is

a very impressive performance. Well done!!

30-40 marks A very good achievement - well done!! You have a secure knowledge of most aspects of sheet music. You have all the skills necessary to continue to put this into practice on your instrument. Congratulations!

20-30 marks A good score! You have shown that you have a reasonably good understanding of the basics of sheet music. This means that you will be able to play more and more music from notation. My advice is to try to play some pieces on your instrument and then revisit the lesson series in about 2 weeks time. This will mean that the material is still fresh in your mind and you can build upon your knowledge.

0-20 marks A solid start - well done! Hopefully, you will have scored reasonably well on the pitch questions. This will mean that you have the foundations in place to start to practice some of the pieces in the 20 Pieces for Occasions Book. Have a go at these for 2 weeks and then revisit the lesson series. You can do it.. it just needs a bit of practice>
