Shell BC-10 Phase 3

BC-10 is a multi-phased field development operated by Shell and located in the Campos Basin with water depths up to 2000m and hosting an 100.000bopd FPSO unit. It is now entering the 3rd phase with 7 new wells and new production and water injections loops being tied back to existing infrastructure.

The Subsea 7 work scope involves the installation engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of Jumpers, Umbilicals, Manifolds, Subsea Hardware and also pre-commisioning of pre-installed (3rd party) flowlines. Most of the permanent items are free-issued by the Client.

OverviewBC-10 Phase 3 scope package awarded to Subsea 7 is referred as BC-10-Ph3-JUMPS which is comprised of the following summary scope:

J - Jumpers - Fabrication and installation• 3 jumpers’ removal (2 off rigid + 1 off flexible)• 17 jumpers (7 off flowline + 10 off well)

U - Umbilicals - Transportation and installation• 3 x static umbilical (total length ca. 20 km)

M - Manifolds - Installation• 2 Production Manifolds (ca. 100 and 25Te)

P - Pre-commissioning• Flowlines pre-commissioning

S - Subsea distribution Hardware - Installation• Hydraulic and Steel Flying Leads / electrical harnesses• Subsea control/distribution system hardware.

The Project is a SURF type Lump-sum contract with transportation and installation scope which will be managed and executed from the Brazil Territory main office in Rio de Janeiro which hosts a significant pool of engineers. The project has duration of approximately 2 years with scheduled completion of the offshore operations in December 2015 in order to support first oil by Q2 2016.

Having executed BC-10 phase 1, Subsea7 and Shell will benefit of significant experience and synergy. The installation engineering and procurement of some long-lead installation have started and also there will be special focus on ensuring that the CPIs interface is correctly managed. The strong local presence and expertise of Subsea 7 will be key to support different types of activities including onshore fabrication.

The Jumpers will be integrated and tested at the Niteroi logistics and fabrication base following delivery of kits by Client and subsea metrology. The jumpers will be then loaded on PSVs for transportation to the field where they will be installed. Fabrication is due to start on second quarter of 2015.

The main asset to execute the offshore scope is the Skandi Neptune. This deepwater construction vessel has 250Te heave-comp crane, 880m2 deck and 3000m rated WROVs and great safety performance (8 years with 0 LTI in 2014). The offshore campaign is due to start in July 2015 with Manifolds installation and metrology, followed pre-commissioning existing flowlines. After this there will installation of umbilicals, jumpers and subsea distribution hardware in a series of trips which are sequenced to minimize the shut-down of production in the field.
