Shining Day Wrap

This elegant lace wrap is perfect to bundle around your neck as a warm scarf on cooler days, or to dress up an outfit as a shoulder wrap when the days get warmer. It is worked off a central foundation in 2 sections with side edging that is crocheted each row.

Skill level: Easy Stitches Used: Chain, Slip Stitch, Single Crochet, Double Crochet Finished Size: 16.25" (41.275cm) wide x 68.5" (173.99cm) long Gauge: 16 rows in stacked foundation = 4” (10 cm) 6 Rows and 1.5 in lace pattern = 4” (10 cm) Materials: Yarn - Designing Vashti “Lotus Yarn” (52% Cotton/ 48% Bamboo Rayon; 256 yds/ 235m, 3.5 oz/100g) 4 balls in Color #019 Peachy Sheen Hook - H-8 / 5mm or size needed to obtain gauge Notions Yarn/tapestry needle Stitch markers Special Stitches: V-Stitch (V-st): (dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated place. Shell Stitch (Shl): (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated st or sp. Picot Stitch (picot): Ch 3, insert hook in top and first side loop of indicat-ed st, yo hook, pull loop thru loop on hook and tighten. {See photo tutorial on page 4} Pattern Notes: Foundation can be worked in stacked rows or as a chain with sc in back bumps. Project is worked off both sides of the foundation. When working into sides of foundation rows for Row 1 of the main part, the foundation rows are referred to as sts for clarity. Stitch charts do not show entirety of project.

[Beg ch-3, 5 dc, 13 ch-1 sp, 6 V-st, 6 Shl] Row 2 (RS): Ch 2, turn, skip first st, 3 dc next st, [ch 1, skip next 5 sts, V-st in next ch-2 sp, ch 1, skip next 5 sts, Shl in next ch-2 sp] 6 times, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 3 dc in next st. [Beg ch-2, 6 dc, 13 ch-1 sp, 6 V-st, 6 Shl] Rows 3 – 56: Repeat Row 2. Row 57: Ch 2, turn, skip first st, 3 dc next st, [ch 1, skip next 5 sts, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp] 12 times, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 3 dc in next st. [12 ch-2 sp, 54 dc] Row 58: Ch 1, turn, skip first st, (sc, picot in sc just made, sc) in next st, sc next st, [slip st in next ch-1 sp, sc next 2 sts, (sc, picot in sc just made, sc) in next ch-2 sp, sc next 2 sts] 12 times, slip st in next ch-1 sp, sc next st, (sc, picot in sc just made, sc) in next st. Fasten off. [78 sc, 14 picots] Side Two of Wrap Row 1: With WS of Side One facing attach yarn to base of original foundation, working in bottom of same sts as Side One Row 1, follow Side One Row 1 instructions.

Row 2-58: Repeat Rows 2 – 58 from Side One. FINISHING Weave in tails and gently block.

Begin Picot by chaining 3.

Insert hook in top (1) and first side loop (2) of indicated stitch.

Should look like this. Yarn over and pull thru all 3 strands on hook shaft you see in this image.

Tighten slip stitch to create upright tip of picot.
