Thimble Shoals ChannelExtends from the Virginia Capes across the

lower end of the Chesapeake Bay into the deepwaters of Hampton Roads. Thimble ShoalsChannel is presently 1,000 feet wide andapproximately 13 miles long. In 1988, the 650-foot wide outbound lane of the 45-foot channelwas deepened to 50 feet. The remaining 350-footwide inbound lane of the 45-foot channel wasdeepened to 50 feet in 2003.

Two channels extend through HamptonRoads, one southward into Norfolk, Portsmouthand Chesapeake, and one westward to NewportNews and up the James River. Authorizedimprovements for Thimble Shoals Channelprovide for deepening to 55 feet.

Norfolk Harbor ChannelExtends from Hampton Roads into the

Southside cities via the Elizabeth River intoNorfolk, Portsmouth and Chesapeake. Begin-ning at the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel, and

extending to a point 0.8 miles above the Interstate 64 Bridge, the Norfolk Channel is 19.6miles long. With the deepening of the outbound lane in 1988 and the deepening of theinbound lane in 2005, a 1,250 feet wide channel providing access from deep water inHampton Roads to the Norfolk International Terminals, and an 800-foot wide channelextending upstream providing access to the Norfolk Southern coal piers at Lambert’s Point,is currently maintained to a depth of 50 feet. A 40-foot channel extends from the coal piersto the Norfolk Southern Railway Bridge on the Southern Branch. Beyond this point a 35-footchannel extends 4.6 miles to a point 0.8 miles above the Interstate 64 Bridge, where thechannel connects with the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway route through the sounds of NorthCarolina to the South Atlantic Coastal States.

The width of theNorfolk Harbor Channel,when including the 45-foot deep and 250-footwide auxiliary channel tothe east, is 1,500 feet fromits outer end to a point opposite Norfolk International Terminals; then 800 feet to the NorfolkSouthern Railway coal piers; thence, 750 feet to the junction of the Eastern and SouthernBranches; thence, up the Southern Branch 450 feet wide to the Belt Line Railroad Bridge;thence, 375 feet wide for one mile to the Norfolk Southern Railway Bridge; thence, 250 to 500feet wide to its junction with the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway route.

OCATED MIDWAY on theAtlantic Coast of the UnitedStates, in latitude 37 degreesnorth and longitude 76 de-grees west, Hampton Roads isfree of ice throughout the year.� The broad, magnificentharbor is formed by the con-fluence of three tidal rivers: theJames, the Nansemond, andthe Elizabeth. It has an area of35 square miles and forms theapproach to the importantdeep draft ports of Norfolk,Newport News, Portsmouth,and Chesapeake.� Ships entering HamptonRoads from the sea follow acourse between the VirginiaCapes, across the lower end ofChesapeake Bay via ThimbleShoals Channel into the deepwaters of Hampton Roads

uthorized improvements provided for deepening theNorfolk Harbor channel to 55 feet between HamptonRoads Bridge Tunnel and Lambert’s Point; deepening

the main stem of the Elizabeth River and the SouthernBranch of the Elizabeth River between Lambert’s Point and the Norfolk SouthernRailway Bridge to 45 feet; deepening the Southern Branch between the SouthernRailway Bridge and the U.S. Routes 460 and 13 highway crossing to 40 feet; andproviding a new 800-foot turning basin at the terminus of the channel improvement.

Newport News ChannelExtends 6.7 miles westward from Hampton Roads to Newport News. The

Channel to Newport News has a depth of 50 feet over a width of 800 feet. Authorizedimprovements for the Newport News Channel provide for deepening to 55 feet.

Atlantic Ocean ChannelExtends from the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay out into the deep water of the

Atlantic Ocean. The Atlantic Ocean Channel, which has a length of 11.1 miles, wasdredged to a depth of 52 feet and a width of 1,300 feet in 2006.

Authorized improvements for the Atlantic Ocean Channel provide for deepeningto 57 feet, with follow-up designs recommending a need for deepening to 60 feet.

James River ChannelThe James River Channel extends 68 and 90 miles respectively to the ports of

Hopewell and Richmond, with a depth of 25 feet to Hopewell, 25 feet to RichmondDeepwater Terminal, and 18 feet to Richmond Harbor. The maintained channel widthis 300 feet to Hopewell and 200 feet from Hopewell to Richmond Harbor.

AnchoragesFive deep draft anchorages have been dredged in Hampton Roads. A deep draft

anchorage opposite the City of Hampton in connection with the 55-foot channelimprovements was completed in 1999. This circular anchorage was deepened to anintermediate depth of 50 feet over a radius of 1,500 feet in 1999. Two of the anchoragesare at Sewell’s Point, one of which was dredged to 45 feet and the other to 40 feet. Theother two anchorages at Newport News are each 40 feet deep.

Authorized Channel ImprovementsMajor improvements to the channels serving Hampton Roads were authorized

in November 1986 and construction began in March 1987 on the first element ofthese improvements, consisting of a 50-foot outbound channel. The authorizedimprovements provide for deepening the Norfolk Harbor Channel, the NewportNews Channel, and the Thimble Shoals Channel to 55 feet and constructing a newchannel in the Atlantic Ocean Channel to a depth of 57 feet. The authorizedimprovements also provide for deepening the Norfolk Harbor 40-foot channel to 45feet, a portion of the Southern Branch 35-foot channel to 40 feet, and providing a new800-foot turning basin at the terminus of the channel improvement.

Port’s Priority ProjectsThe Hampton Roads Navigational Summit is a

stakeholder’s forum jointly sponsored by the VMA andthe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to prioritize navigational projects in the Port, obtain the resources and support necessary to move them forward, and with the mission of achieving “Unrestricted Navigationfor the Ports of Virginia”.The Summit brings together participants from the maritimecommunity, government, and elected office holders to work collaboratively to meetthe Port’s dredging requirements.

At the inaugural Navigational Summit in 2006, the maritime communityagreed on the following as the priority projects for the Ports of Virginia:

• Maintain the Norfolk Harbor Channel and Craney Island• Construct the Craney Island Eastern Expansion• Deepen the Southern Branch to the 45-foot and 40-foot authorized project

level• Construct the 55-foot Norfolk Harbor ProjectThese are the navigational needs that must be addressed and brought to

reality for the Ports of Virginia to reach its fullest potential as a driver of regionaland statewide economic activity.

operation, with modern piers and warehouses in Norfolk, Virginia, and is owned by theNorfolk Southern Corporation.

Lambert’s Point Docks is a niche terminal whose services are tailored for customers withspecial needs. Special services include: warehouse and covered pier storage for breakbulkcargo comprising of approximately 1.2 million sq. ft.; rapid container, railcar and truckservices; specialized equipment to handle any type of general cargo; equipment rail ramps;two 50-ton articulated gantry cranes equipped with automatic container spreader bars; andtwo 1,100 foot RoRo berths. Both U.S. Customs and U.S. Department of Agriculture providean array of services at the terminal.

Container control and interchange facilities are located at Lambert’s Point Docks; themarshalling yard accommodates over 2,500 TEUs. The facilities have 24-hour armed security provided by Top Guard Security Services.

Pier B

Pier B contains over 270,000 sq. ft. of covered pier storage – all sprinklered. With twoberths, Pier B can service two ships at any given time. The complete cargo handlingcapabilities of Pier B are augmented with over 40 forklifts with 6,000 to 65,000 lb. capacityand numerous yard tractors with ample trailers. Serviced by trucking companies and CSXRailroad, the pier has 1,100 feet of depressed tracks with 840 feet more on the north side and600 feet on the Southside. An extension to Pier B also provides an additional 22,800 sq. ft. ofopen storage space.

Newport News Marine Terminal

Pier C

Pier C has a spacious RoRo berth and one additional berth with a combined capabilityof servicing two ships at any time. Pier C also has a 182 metric ton crane for handling heavylifts. In addition to providing service between the vessel and apron, they can also directly loadand unload trucks and railroad cars. Indoor storage is provided by 128,340 sq. ft. ofsprinklered covered warehouse space.

� Norfolk International TerminalsNorfolk International Terminals (NIT) is the largest container terminal in the Ports of

Virginia. NIT has 6,630 feet of marginal wharf serviced by fourteen world-class containercranes. The container cranes servicing this facility are all 100-foot gauge Suez-Class containercranes with a minimum outreach of 22 containers and a maximum width across a ship up to26 containers wide.


For breakbulk cargoes at this terminal, there are three finger piers which canaccommodate up to six ships at one time. The finger piers are 1,320 feet long and 300 feetwide with 34-40 foot aprons. There is a total of 900,000 sq. ft. of covered pier warehouse spaceon the finger piers. In addition, Pier 3 contains a cold storage facility located dockside.

RoRo cargo is handled on a dedicated 900-foot long berth, with 33 feet of water,adjacent to the north side of Pier 2.

NIT contains over 53,000 ft. of on-terminal rail with over 25,000 ft. of working track forloading/unloading rail cars on terminal. NIT is served by Norfolk Southern and the Norfolkand Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad.

Highway access to the terminal is excellent, with Interstate 64, a major east-westhighway, connected to the terminal by Terminal Boulevard. The terminal itself has anexcellent road network for handling trucks to all warehouses and piers.

� The Port of RichmondLocated on the James River, 100 miles from Cape Henry, the Port of Richmond is

Central Virginia’s domestic and international multi-modal freight and distributioncenter. The Port serves waterborne, rail and truck shippers throughout the mid-Atlanticstates.

This container and general cargo facility is leased by the Virginia Port Authority andoperated by a privately-owned company, Port Contractors, Inc. (PCI) of New Castle,Delaware. PCI was established 86 years ago as a container, breakbulk, heavy lift, and generalstevedore-terminal operating company.

Enjoying a strategic location, the Port boasts superior logistical advantages withoutstanding access to inland markets. The Richmond facility is a dynamic domestic andinternational transportation hub centrally located on the East Coast, halfway between Maineand Florida, adjacent to 1-95, and with easy access to Interstates 64, 85, 295, the Richmond

Central Business District, and the air cargo facilities and Foreign Trade Zone #207 at theRichmond International Airport – the Port of Richmond is a vital link to domestic andinternational markets and the global economy.

The Port of Richmond receives strong support from local and mid-Atlantic shippers forits specialized customer service for cargo handling, warehousing and supply chaindistribution services. It serves as an important rail transshipment center providing domesticand international rail unloading and distribution capability for shippers using CSXT andNorfolk Southern rail service in Central Virginia, and as a container freight station for cargoesto and from coastal ports. In addition, as road congestion becomes more and more of atransportation issue, the viability of a Port barge connection to serve many industries on theEastern Seaboard increases.

Cargo at the Port is handled at three berths with 25-foot depth alongside a 1,584-footconcrete gravity poured wharf. Two Manitowoc cranes, an M-2250 and an M-250, serve theberths. Total warehouse capacity is 300,105 sq. ft. with 34 acres of open storage available.Partnered with METALNET and TRANSMODE, the Port is part of a comprehensive SupplyChain Network of over 600 warehouses. CSX provides direct rail connection with local switchservice via Norfolk Southern. Over thirty-five trucking lines use the terminal includingspecialists in heavy hauling, over-dimensional load, and liquid and dry bulk. Special on-siteport features include U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service, electrical service for 41refrigerated containers, fumigation facilities and a well-lit terminal facility with 24-hoursecurity, seven days a week. The Port also has a 12-acre development site available forindustrial use which is zoned M-2. The 64 EXPRESS, the Port’s weekly container-on-barge

service, provides a maritime alternative to I-95 by moving goods from Hampton Roads toRichmond via barges, removing container traffic off local roads and highways.

Container, temperature-controlled container, breakbulk, bulk, neo-bulk, and livestockcargo are all handled at the Port. In addition to the marine tonnage, the Port also handlesdomestic cargo – steel, steel products and pipe, coming into the Port either by rail or truck.Commodities handled at the Port include chemicals, pharmaceuticals, forest products,machinery, consumer goods, frozen seafood, produce, bottled water from Iceland,recreational campers, steel, steel products, aluminum, project cargo, vehicles, wire coils, wirerods, pipe, aplite and livestock.

� Virginia Inland PortThe Virginia Inland Port (VIP) opened in March 1989. It is located in Front Royal,

Virginia, adjacent to U.S. Route 340 and Virginia Route 522, two miles from I-66 and six milesfrom I-81. VIP serves as an intermodal container transfer of ocean-going containers to andfrom the ports of Hampton Roads. Containers are transported by truck to VIP for immediateloading upon a Norfolk Southern rail spine car or for short term storage prior to loading.

VIP provides intermodal service to markets in northern Virginia, West Virginia,Maryland, Pennsylvania, and eastern Ohio.


Virginia Inland Port

Land is available to steamship lines for container storage and ancillary serviceoperations. A 6,000 sq. ft. administration building was completed in September 1997, andwas expanded in late 2005. New maintenance and interchange facilities were completed in 1999.

� Virginia International Terminals LLCVirginia International Terminals has available modern materials handling equipment

for all types of cargo at the terminals. Computers are used extensively in the operations ofthe container, break-bulk and warehouse spaces. Service to shippers is of the highest orderand rates for all services are competitive with other ports.

Virginia International Terminals LLC, is the non-stock, non-profit operating affiliate ofthe Virginia Port Authority, and operates the state-owned facilities, known as the Port ofVirginia, through an operating agreement with the Virginia Port Authority. The six facilitiesat the Port of Virginia are: Norfolk International Terminals, APM Terminals Virginia,Newport News Marine Terminal, Portsmouth Marine Terminal, Port of Richmond, and theVirginia Inland Port in Warren County, Virginia.

The Virginia Port Authority is an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and is the Commonwealth’s leading agency for international transportation and maritimecommerce. The agency owns and/or leases five marine cargo facilities in Hampton Roadsand on the James River in Richmond.

Dominion Terminal Associates

� Dominion Terminal AssociatesDominion Terminal Associates (D.T.A.) is located on the east bank of the James River in

Newport News. The terminal is owned by subsidiaries of three American companies, AlphaNatural Resources, LLC, Arch Coal Inc., and Peabody Energy Corporation.

D.T.A. has an annual throughout capacity of 22 million tons and can accommodatevessels ranging from barges to ships of 178,000 dwt. Coal is received from the coal fields ofVirginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky through CSX Transportation.

The tandem rotary dumper can unload coal at a rate of 5,700 tons per hour. A system ofnineteen 72-inch and 84-inch belt conveyors transports the coal from the dumper to storageor direct to the shiploader. Coal is stored in four areas, capable of storing up to 1.7 milliontons, and later reclaimed for shipment by two stacker/reclaimers and one reclaimer. Thesethree machines have 200-ft. booms and are capable of luffing, slewing and traveling along thelength of the storage areas to stack and reclaim the coal with a minimal amount of dozing.

Coal Terminals



Coal can be reclaimed and transported to the twin silos at 6,800 tons per hour where itcan be blended and loaded onto vessels at up to 6,500 tons per hour. The single shiploaderwith a 145-foot boom can accommodate ships with 79-foot draft. Pierside, D.T.A. matchesthe harbor’s 50 foot depth.

� Kinder Morgan Bulk Terminals - Pier IXPier IX Terminal was completed and became operational in December 1982. Loading

facilities include double berth pier with a belt conveyor system, single shiploader, and an airdraft of 65 feet, capable of loading 85,000 to 90,000 ton colliers in a day. Berth and loadingfacilities will accommodate vessel length of 1,000 feet and breadth of 155 feet. The storagefacility has a rated annual capacity of 12 million tons of coal per year with ground storage of1.36 million in 12 piles.

The Terminal is served by the CSX Rail System which accesses the highest qualities ofmetallurgical and steam coals with competitive rail rates. Kinder Morgan Bulk Terminals(KMBT)-Pier IX offers mechanical sampling to and from storage, and multiple stockpileloadings instantaneously.

In June 1991, KMBT-Pier IX began operation of a cement unloading, storage and truckloadout facility. KMBT-Pier X also offers selected drybulk unloading services to stockpile ortransloading from vessel to barge (barge to vessel).

� Norfolk Southern CorporationNORFOLK SOUTHERN RAILWAY COMPANY

Norfolk Southern’s coal handling facility at Lambert’s Point is one of the fastest andmost efficient in the Northern hemisphere, concentrating at one point the collection andblending of coals originating from approximately 130 mines and preparation plants on its railsystem. In addition to the shiploading piers, Norfolk Southern has constructed modernweighing, thawing, sampling and dumping facilities to supply coal to the pier.

Classification and storage yards accommodate approximately 5,200 loaded coal cars atLambert’s Point, or more than 520,000 tons of coal on hand each day, with additional tracksprovided for receiving loaded trains and assembly of empty cars returning to the coal fields.Service is expedited by a high-speed, virtually one-way route for coal trains from the minesto Norfolk. In addition to Coal Pier 6, Norfolk Southern operates a modern shop for therepair of coal cars before returning to the mines. Pier and yard offices, weighing stations,thawing sheds, yard lighting, roadways and other facilities serve all classes of colliers quicklyand efficiently.

Twin surge silos for short-term storage allow the continual dumping of coal whileshiploaders are being repositioned during hold and vessel changes.

PIER 6

Pier 6 opened for business in 1963 and in 1999 dumped its billionth ton of coal,becoming the only facility in the world to have reached that milestone. The concrete and steelpier has twin traveling loaders, each as high as a 17-story building and can serve two colliersor concentrate on a single ship. More than 150,000 tons of coal have been loaded into a single

collier, some of which are 1,000 feet in length and 175 feet in width. The current NorfolkSouthern record is 159,941.45 tons into the MVCAPE DOVER early in 2012. Lay berth spaceis available on the upstream side of the pier for two large vessels. The pier has a designcapacity of 16,000 tons an hour, with a maximum capacity of 20,000 tons an hour. Duringthe fall of 1994, air draft was increased from 55.5 feet to 74 feet. Because cars are dumpeddirectly to the vessel, premium blending and mixing of coals can be accomplished to servicethe needs of coking and steam coal buyers worldwide.

The coal is carried by a series of 8-foot wide rubber conveyor belts to the loaders whereeven-flow retractable booms deposit it smoothly into colliers. The booms can reach out as faras 120 feet, providing an even-keel loading for ships with centerline bulkheads.

The conveyor belts at Pier 6 are equipped with a sophisticated mechanical coal-samplingsystem manufactured by Tema-Siebtechnikk and under lease by Sampling AssociatesInternational, a consortium of four testing laboratories in Hampton Roads. The systemsamples coal from the moving conveyor belt and sends it to the top of a processing tower.There, it is crushed and split several times before final samples are sealed in airtight containersfor laboratory testing.

Refrigerated Facilities� Lineage RCS Norfolk (formerly IRPS)

Lineage RCS Norfolk is located on Pier 3 at Norfolk International (NIT) in Norfolk,Virginia. The facility is utilized by importers and exporters of perishable products. Thewarehouse encompasses 100,000 square feet and 3,000,000 cubic feet of temperaturecontrolled storage space.

Lineage provides a variety of value-added services including blast freezing, crossdocking, drayage and labeling/stamping. Lineage also provides loading and unloading ofcontainerized and break-bulk cargo and is served by Norfolk Southern and CSX railroads.

The facilty is USDAapproved and certifiedfor export to Russia.Lineage also provides itscustomers with webenabled customer access.

Kinder Morgan Terminals–Elizabeth River Terminals, LLC, located on the SouthernBranch of the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake, is the only public, multi-product, dry bulkcargo terminal in Hampton Roads. The terminal facilities are serviced by two major railroads(NS, CSX) and also provide easy access to the U.S. interstate system. It is the completeterminal for stevedoring, storage, loading out, and documentation.

The terminal elevator handles a variety of commoditiesincluding corn, wheat, soybeans, barley, soybean meal and soybean oils. In addition, Perdueoperates a soybean extraction plant producing Hi-Pro soybean meal and crude degummedsoybean oil. With easy access to the Atlantic Ocean, this facility can accommodate vesselslarge enough to load up to 60,000 metric tons or more.

Chesapeake, was constructed primarily for serving both export and import wood chip tradein the mid-Atlantic region of the U.S. The terminal has expanded to 44 acres to accommodateother dry bulk and break bulk cargoes to include warehousing. The facility design features:total waterfrontage of 1,089 feet; 800 lineal feet vessel docking area with a draft of 40 feet;fendered sheetpile bulk head; rail service by Norfolk and Portsmouth Belt Line Railroad withaccess to CSX and Norfolk Southern; two sets truck weight scales, easy access to interstatehighways; working 24 hours, seven days a week, except holidays (Thanksgiving, the day afterThanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).


� BKEP Materials, LLCBKEP Materials, LLC is situated adjacent to the C & O Railroad yards in Newport News,

Virginia. It has a storage capacity in excess of 520,000 barrels for handling diesel fuel, marinediesel fuel, #2 fuel oil, #4 fuel oil, #5 fuel oil, #6 fuel oil, bunker fuels, asphalt cement, andasphalt emulsion.

Products are received into the terminal by tanker and barge and redistributed bytransport trucks and barges.

� DCP Midstream, LLCDCP Midstream, LLC is located in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the confluence of St. Julian’s

Creek and the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River. Two tanks with a capacity of240,000 barrels each are provided for the receipt and storage of fully refrigerated liquefiedpetroleum gas.

Vessels transitting to or from the terminal must pass through three bridges. Thecontrolling air draft is 135 ft. at mean high water and the controlling width is 220 ft.

The channel leading to the terminal is in brackish water and is maintained for vesselswith a maximum draft of 35 ft. at mean low water.

� IMTT-VirginiaIMTT-Virginia, a leading East Coast storer of industrial fuel oils, liquid fertilizer and

bunker fuels, owns and operates a deep water port and terminal complex on the SouthernBranch of the Elizabeth River in Chesapeake.

Oil Storage and Handling Facilities

IMTT-Virginia



The company’s facility has a storage of more than 950,000 barrels and handles a widerange of asphalts, liquid fertilizer and the complete range of industrial fuel oils, including #2,#4, #6 and bunker oils. Product terminaling is available for term leasing.

The terminal, operating around-the-clock, is connected with the Colonial Pipelinesystem and the Norfolk Southern Railway.

� Marine Oil Service, Inc.


The Marine Oil Service, Inc. terminal is located on the Southern Branch of the ElizabethRiver and has served the Ports of Virginia for over 30 years. Providing 24-hour,365-day service, Marine Oil’s fleet of trucks and three self-propelled tankers deliverlubricating oil and diesel fuel to ocean-going vessels and shipyards in the mid-Atlantic.Heated bulk storage keeps turnaround time to a minimum and a large variety of packagedproducts serves the needs of most vessels. Aviation oils and greases, industrial lubricants andproducts for truck fleets and off-road equipment are also stocked at the facility.

� Norfolk Oil Transit, Inc.Norfolk Oil Transit, Inc. is a liquid bulk terminal located at the Lambert’s Point Docks

general cargo facility in Norfolk, Virginia.

The terminal serves one berth at Lambert’s Point Docks. Pier N is 1,100 feet long, whereliquid commodities are handled via two six-inch insulated mild steel lines, and one six-inchstainless steel line.

The terminal has sixteen storage tanks ranging in size from 8,000 to 768,000 gallons.Total storage capacity is 3,205,000 gallons, or 73,331 barrels. The tanks include epoxy lined,fiberglass lined, insulated, steam coiled, and mixing tanks.

Commodities handled at Norfolk Oil Transit include animal fats and oils, vegetable oils,chemicals, latex and fatty acids.



Rail service for the terminal is provided by Norfolk Southern, CSX Transportation andthe Eastern Shore Railroad. Norfolk Oil Transit is capable of storing 60 jumbo tank cars. Theterminal is equipped with a truck scale for accommodating truck traffic. Norfolk Oil Transitalso handles liquid drumming. Direct transfers between vessels and rail cars or trucks, andbetween rail cars and trucks are available.

Norfolk Oil Transit, Inc.

� PAPCO, Inc.PAPCO markets diversified fuel and lubricant product lines to a broad customer base of

commercial, marine and government end users in the eastern United States. PAPCO backstheir value-added services with its secure fuel supply capabilities through proprietary fuelstorage locations in Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Newport News, and West Point, Virginia.PAPCO also maintains a large number of supply agreements with an established network ofrefiners, pipelines, terminals, and transportation providers that have been expanding since 1976.

The PAPCO Marine and Truck Distribution Facility is located adjacent to the NewportNews Marine Terminals in the small boat harbor in Newport News, Virginia. GPScoordinates: 36~57.60 North by 76~24.48 West.

Our dockside facility includes provisions for the fueling of vessels through two meteredstations capable of loading at a maximum rate of 180 GPM through 2" hose reels (2" cam lockfitting) with 80' of hose. The PAPCO dock accommodates vessels up to a maximum lengthof 160’ and a maximum draft of 16' at Mean Low Tide. Marine gas oil, diesel fuels and waterare available dockside, as well as bulk marine lubricants (ExxonMobile and Chevron brands)including zinc-free engine oils.


Dockside services are available Monday through Friday 0600-1800 hours; Saturday0800-1200 hours; Sunday and after hours available by appointment only.

PAPCO also offers marine gas oil and diesel fuels at the Allied Terminal Dock on theSouthern Branch of the Elizabeth River, Chesapeake, Virginia, as well as the CITGO MarineTerminal in Baltimore, Maryland.

� TransMontaigne, Inc.TransMontaigne, Inc. is located on the Southern Branch of the Elizabeth River in

Chesapeake. This large facility distributes petroleum products from this point into the statesof Virginia and North Carolina. The terminal has a storage capacity of 400,000 barrels;gasoline, ethanol, fuel oil, and diesel fuels. These products are received by ocean-goingtankers, by Colonial Pipeline, and by Tank Trucks.

Ample water and dockage facilities are available and shipments are made by barge andtruck. Dockside fuel for tugs and other vessels, as well as crew, are also available.

A complete line of lubricating oils and greases in pails are stored at this location, as wellas bulk oil metered to the dock.

Shipments can be affected by tank truck and tank ship or barge. Trucks can be loadedat the range of 600 GPM and ships/barges at 3000 GPM.

Dockside facilities include provision for the fueling of tugs and small vessels through acomplete metering system. Bulk deliveries of MGO and marine lubricants to ocean-goingvessels are made by small tank-boat. Deliveries of MDO and bunker fuel are made by bargeto ship.
