1. Enabling the extension

You can make shipping available both for all countries and for specific ones only. From the list of countries please choose those, for which you would like to create shipping methods with the module.

To make the module work go to Admin panel -> System -> Configuration -> ‘Sales’ tab -> Shipping methods.

Set this option to ‘Yes’ to enable the module.

Put to ‘Yes’ if to exclude free shipping items from the shipping methods created with the module.

Set numeric zip to ‘yes’ to use the intervals. For example, if you set up zip code interval from 12346 to 12349, the rate will apply to the adresses, which include any zip code from the interval (12346, 12347, 12348, 12349).

When you set this option to ‘Yes’, price and quantity of virtual products won’t be considered for calculation of shipping rates for orders.

You can indicate that a shipping rate should apply to price of the product after discount. Let's say a product costs $100. If after the discount it becomes $70, shipping rate for 70-dollar products will apply to it.

5. Import CSV file with shipping rates

At the ‘Import’ tab you can import csv file with the rates information. You can find sample csv file at the specified url and within the extension package. Please see the next pages for explanation on csv structure. If you set ‘Delete Existing Rates’ option to ‘Yes’, all rates previously imported for this method, will be deleted.

At the ‘Methods and Rates’ tab you can view the imported rates. You can see address, price, quantity, weight, shipping rate and shipping type data here. ‘Rate’ column – means base rate for the order which qualifies for the specified address, product price, weight and quantity parameters. In this case the flat rate of 12 will be applied to order shipped to Arkansas, with total product price between 33 and 880, quantity between 2 and 2000, etc.

‘PPP’ column – percent per product. In this situation shipping will be calculated as 3% of total product price.

‘FRPP’ column – flat rate per product. Flat shipping rate of 7 will be added for each product within the order.

‘FRPUW’ column – flat rate for the unit of weight (kg or lb)

‘Shipping type’ column. All the rates you defined in ‘Rate’, ‘PPP’, ‘FRPP’ and ‘FRPUW’ columns will apply only to the products of the shipping type you assign in ‘Shipping type’ field. This way you can create unlimited number of rates for one or several products of specific types. The process of assignment of products to ‘shipping types’ will be described further in this user guide.

‘Rate’, ‘PPP’, ‘FRPP’ and ‘FRPUW’ are added to each other, so in our situation shipping will be calculated as 50 per order plus 3 percent of total product price plus flat rate of 7 plus 0,1 for the unit of weight for each product. If we have in cart 7 products which cost 2000 and weigh 200 lb, with ‘extra large’ shipping type, the price of shipping to Arkansas will be: 151 = 50 (flat rate per order) + 60 (3% of product price) + 21 (7 per product) + 20 (0.1 for each lb of weight) For extra large products shipped to NY shipping rate is less in our setup. Also, shipping rate differs for the goods, located in CA storehouse when they are shipped to the other coast (NY), etc.

8. Example of csv file with rates

In the csv file please specify a value for each column of ‘Methods and Rates’ tab. You can find sample csv file within the extension package or at http://amasty.com/examples/tablerates.csv If you use “*” symbol for some column, it means that the rate will be applied to all values of this parameter. For example if you specify “*” for zip column, the rates will be applied to order with any zip code.

9. Shipping type

As it was described before, you can use ‘shipping type’ attribute for a product or a group of products to make a shipping rate work only for this particular product or group of products. To create the options for ‘shipping type’ attribute please go Catalog -> Attributes -> Manage attributes -> Edit Product Attribute "Shipping Type“-> Manage Label/Options.

Create the options you will use for the shipping rates.

9. Shipping type After you’ve created the necessary options, they are available for assignment to any product from your product list. Go to Catalog -> Manage Products and choose a product.

You can assign any value of the attribute to the product. Then once you create a shipping rate for this shipping type, the rate will apply only to the products with the shipping type.
