OFFICIAL SWIMMING POOL OPENING
The Kondinin Swimming Pool was officially opened on Friday 6th of November 2015 by Mia Davies, MLA and Shire
President, Allen Smoker. Despite the rather stormy weather we had a good turn out of locals who attended the opening. Thank
you to Sue Pegrum and Alan George for arranging the event and cooking the BBQ. This project was made possible through
Royalties for Regions Funding from the Department of Regional Development and funding from the Department of Sport and
Recreation.
SENIORS WEEK TRIP
As part of Seniors Week and through funding from COTA WA, Lotterywest and the Department of Local Government and
Communities the Shire arranged a bus trip on Sunday 8th November 2015 with locals from Kondinin and Kulin to see a live
cabaret show ‘The Beggers Present—SING! at the Cummins Theatre in Merredin. The Hyden CRC also took a bus from
Hyden through the same grant funding.
Over 100 seniors from around the district attended the show which included dinner and live entertainment. The musicians were
very engaging with the audience and sang lots of catchy tunes that we could all sing along to! It was a great night and by all
reports everyone thoroughly enjoyed it.
A big thank you to Heather Lockyer who drove the bus and provided door to door service to everyone that came along.
