It consists of seven members who each serve three-year terms and receive no salary or other financial compensation. The meetings, except for Executive Sessions, are held before the public. The Board of Education may convene to Executive Session immediately after opening the meeting. At the end of the Executive Session, the Board of Education will re-convene to the Regular Meeting. Arrival and departure times of the Board of Education members shall be noted in the minutes and within the order of events. A maximum of half hour will be allocated for agenda items “Statements of Residents” with a three minute limit per individual. Each speaker must be a resident of the District. Residents wishing to make comments or raise questions shall state their name and address. Public discussion is prohibited on matters relating to staff and students at which their reputation, privacy, or rights to due process or the rights of others to due process, could be in some way violated. Residents will be permitted to participate in Board of Education discussion and agenda item “Discussion,” however Board of Education members will speak first. Each resident will be limited to one input with a two minute maximum. A time limit for residents’ discussion will be no more than 10 minutes unless a majority of the Board wants to extend the time due to the nature of the topic. Residents will address the Board and not each other during this discussion. Each Board Member voting on a motion shall be permitted to state the reason for doing so and the statement shall be noted in the minutes. The public, in its comments, will refrain from making any direct references to student or staff members. Such references to individual students or staff members are inappropriate in a public forum and should instead be conducted in private conversation with an appropriate member of the staff. #1314-032 Approval of Payment for Litigation Support Services:

RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves an hourly rate of $135.00 for litigation support services performed on behalf of the District by Law Clerks employed by Guercio and Guercio, LLP, as more fully set forth in correspondence from Guercio and Guercio, LLP dated July 18, 2013.

#1314-033 Revision to Resolution #1213-282 (CSEA Memorandum of Agreement): WHEREAS, on June 27, 2013 the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District approved Resolution #1213-282 which authorized a one-time stipend for a Lab Assistant for the 2012-2013 school year; and WHEREAS, the District has elected to amend Resolution #1213-282 to include an additional clause related to a step increase on the CSEA salary scale for the Lab Assistant; therefore BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby authorizes Resolution #1213-282 to be amended by adding an additional clause related to a step increase on the CSEA salary scale for the Lab Assistant; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby authorizes the Board President to execute the Memorandum of Agreement.

#1314-034 Re-Assignment of Positions and Duties:

WHEREAS, on July 9, 2013, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District appointed Dr. William Bushman, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, to the following positions: Title IX Compliance Officer, Records Management Officer, Records Access Officer, Attendance Officer, Homeless Liaison; and WHEREAS, on July 9, 2013, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District appointed Dr. William Bushman, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources the following duty: District-wide Coordinator of Dignity for All Students Act (DASA); and WHEREAS, effective close of business on August 16, 2013, Dr. William Bushman resigned his position as Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources with the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District; and THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby appoints Mr. Lou Curra, Interim Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, to the following positions: Title IX Compliance Officer, Records Management Officer, Records Access Officer, Attendance Officer, Homeless Liaison; and ALSO BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby appoints Mr. Lou Curra, Interim Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, the following duty: District-wide Coordinator of Dignity for All Students Act (DASA).

#1314-035 Annual Professional Performance Review Plan (APPR) for 2013-2014:

WHEREAS, the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District’s 2012-2013 Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) Plan, that was approved by the Commissioner of Education, remains in effect and there are no other agreements that prevent, conflict or interfere with full implementation of such APPR Plan; therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, approves and/or ratifies the execution of any and all required APPR certification documents by the Superintendent and the President of the Board of Education for submission to the Commissioner of Education pursuant to Education Law Section 3012-c for the 2013-2014 school year.

#1314-036 Re-Certification of Lead Evaluators (APPR) for 2013-2014:

RESOLVED, that the following staff have received appropriate training in teacher and/or principal evaluation in accordance with the regulations of the Commissioner of Education, and such individuals are hereby re-certified as qualified lead evaluators for the purpose of conducting and completing evaluations.

#1213-039 T-Shirt Printing Bid Award: WHEREAS, requests for bids were advertised for T-Shirt Printing in our two (2) official newspapers and opened on August 5, 2013 at 11:00 AM; and WHEREAS, requests for bids were mailed to three (3) vendors and requests for bids were received from two (2) vendors; and WHEREAS, such bids have been reviewed by the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, the Purchasing Agent, and the Coordinator for Community Programs; and WHEREAS, the Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations, the Purchasing Agent, and the Coordinator for Community Programs have recommended award to the lowest responsible bidder meeting the specifications, therefore

#1314-043 Donation(s) from the Wildcat Athletic Club (Press Box): WHEREAS, the Wildcat Athletic Club (WAC) (on behalf of the Field Renovation Committee (FRC)) is donating the purchase of a Prefabricated Press Box and all services related to same valued at $68,246.09; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District has previously accepted donations totaling $7,638.09 related to the Prefabricated Press Box; and WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District has accepted a donation at tonight’s Board meeting totaling $5,000.00 related to the concession stand and toilet facility; therefore BE IT RESOLVED, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby accepts a donation from the Wildcat Athletic Club (WAC) (on behalf of the Field Renovation Committee (FRC)) in the amount of $55,608.00 for the purchase of a Prefabricated Press Box and all services related to same.
