It consists of seven members who each serve three-year terms and receive no salary or other financial compensation. The meetings, except for Executive Sessions, are held before the public. The Board of Education may convene to Executive Session immediately after opening the meeting. At the end of the Executive Session, the Board of Education will re-convene to the Regular Meeting. Arrival and departure times of the Board of Education members shall be noted in the minutes and within the order of events. A maximum of half hour will be allocated for agenda items “Statements of Residents” with a three minute limit per individual. Each speaker must be a resident of the District. Residents wishing to make comments or raise questions shall state their name and address. Public discussion is prohibited on matters relating to staff and students at which their reputation, privacy, or rights to due process or the rights of others to due process, could be in some way violated. Residents will be permitted to participate in Board of Education discussion and agenda item “Discussion,” however Board of Education members will speak first. Each resident will be limited to one input with a two minute maximum . A time limit for residents’ discussion will be no more than 10 minutes unless a majority of the Board wants to extend the time due to the nature of the topic. Residents will address the Board and not each other during this discussion. Each Board Member voting on a motion shall be permitted to state the reason for doing so and the statement shall be noted in the minutes. The public, in its comments, will refrain from making any direct references to student or staff members. Such references to individual students or staff members are inappropriate in a public forum and should instead be conducted in private conversation with an appropriate member of the staff. Please note: This is a tentative or draft agenda. Any item on this agenda is subject to change by addition or deletion. #1213-142 SWRTA Memorandum of Agreement:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves and authorizes the Board President to execute the attached Memorandum of Agreement dated March 5, 2013, between the District and Shoreham-Wading River Teachers’ Association (SWRTA) regarding Professional Development Work Year for the 2013-2014 school year.

#1213-143 Adoption of Revised 2013-2014 School Year Calendar:

WHEREAS, on January 22, 2013 the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District adopted Resolution #1213-122 Adoption of 2013-2014 School Year Calendar; and WHEREAS, the newly adopted 2013-2014 school year calendar is in need of revisions; therefore BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District adopts the revised 2013 - 2014 school year calendar.

#1213-144 Employment Agreement:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves the Employment Agreement as per attached for Janice Weschler, Confidential Principal Account Clerk, effective March 25, 2013 – June 30, 2013. The President of the Board and Superintendent are authorized to sign this agreement.

#1213-145 Suffolk County Board of Elections Contract:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves an agreement between the District and Suffolk County Board of Elections to use the Albert G. Prodell Middle School and the Shoreham-Wading River High School as polling places for primary elections, general elections, and special elections during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years at a fee of $75.00 per election/per site. The Superintendent and District Clerk are authorized to sign this contract and thereby signify the Board’s acceptance to the agreement.

#1213-146 Educational Data Services, Inc. Contract: RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District approves the renewal of the Bidding Service and Ordering Service Contract with Educational Data Services, Inc. and participation in the New York Cooperative Bidding Program at an annual fee of $8,900.00 (no increase from previous years) which is a 2012-2013 budgeted expense related to ordering of school supplies for the 2013-2014 school year. The Board President is authorized to sign this contract.

#1213-147 Uniondale UFSD Health and Welfare Services Contract:

WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District has been duly empowered by the provision of Section 912 of the Education Law to enter into a contract for the purpose of providing health and welfare services for children residing in the District and attending non-public schools in the Uniondale UFSD; and WHEREAS, these services are provided during the school year of 2012-2013 and the contract ends on June 30, 2013 unless terminated earlier in accordance with terms set forth within the Agreement. WHEREAS, at the rate of $600.56 per student, the total cost of this Agreement is $600.56 for one (1) student(s); therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham Wading River Central School District hereby approves the Health and Welfare Services Agreement between the District and Uniondale UFSD for the 2012-2013 school year. The President of the Board of Education is authorized to execute said contract and thereby signify the Board’s acceptance to the contract.

#1213-148 Riverhead CSD Health and Welfare Services Contract:

WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District has been duly empowered by the provision of Section 912 of the Education Law to enter into a contract for the purpose of providing health and welfare services for children residing in the District and attending non-public schools in the Riverhead Central School District; and WHEREAS, these services are provided during the school year of 2012-2013 and the contract ends on June 30, 2013 unless terminated earlier in accordance with terms set forth within the Agreement. WHEREAS, at the rate of $667.80 per student, the total cost of this Agreement is $14,691.60 for twenty two (22) student(s); therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham Wading River Central School District hereby approves the Health and Welfare Services Agreement between the District and Riverhead Central School District for the 2012-2013 school year. The President of the Board of Education is authorized to execute said contract and thereby signify the Board’s acceptance to the contract.

#1213-149 Michelle Delaney Contract:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves an agreement between the District and Michelle Delaney to provide Tutoring Services for Level II Wilson Reading for the 2012-2013 school year at a rate of $75.00 per hour. The President of the Board is authorized to sign this contract and thereby signify the Board’s acceptance to the agreement.

#1213-150 Penn Relays:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves a request by Mr. Ken Marlborough, Director of Health, Physical Education and Athletics, for an overnight / out-of-state trip to University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA on April 24 and 25, 2013 for the Varsity girls and boys spring track team to participate in the Penn Relays at a cost to the District of $250.00.

#1213-151 Philadelphia, PA Field Trip:

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District hereby approves a request by Mr. Louis Parrinello, Principal of Miller Avenue Elementary School, for an overnight field trip to Philadelphia, PA, on May 30 and 31, 2013, to help 5th grade students understand the complex concepts regarding the founding of our nation and of democracy as a form of government at no cost to the District.

RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Shoreham-Wading River Central School District accepts the following donation(s) and, if necessary, approves the appropriate budget line(s) to be increased by that amount:
