ShoreWare Director is a browser-based networkmanagement tool that provides a single managementinterface for all voice applications across all locations.Instead of using separate management systems formultiple PBX, voicemail and automated attendantsystems, ShoreWare Director unifies all systems
and tasks into a single interface. This interface isextremely easy to learn and use, so administratorscan be highly efficient. This improved efficiencyhelps reduce ownership costs and frees ITresources to work on other projects.
Reducing complexityand cost of ownershipShoreWare Director simplifies unified communications(UC) system management by consolidating control ata single point. This eliminates the need for multipleadministrators because it provides a unified view ofall voice switches, voicemail systems and automatedattendants from anywhere on the network.
Get up and running quickly with ascalable systemShoreWare Director automatically recognizes andconfigures all active IP telephones* on the network, eliminating the need to manually add and deletephones through a management console. Forexample, when new users are added to theShoreTel UC system, they are automaticallyassigned an extension, mailbox, and auto-attendantprofile. Furthermore, the new user can easily beadded to an Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) groupand receives an e-mail to download their desktopsoftware all through ShoreWare Director.
To expand your ShoreTel network, simply plug ina new ShoreGearVoice Switch and ShoreWareDirector will automatically discover it, quicklyproviding more telephone or trunk capacity.
Auto-discovery capabilities are enabled by the ShoreTelUC systems integrated software distribution for voiceswitches, IP telephones, servers and desktopapplicationswhich reduces support overhead andhelps ensure that the system is always running optimally.Software automatically updates the centralized data-base, allowing for streamlined backup procedures.
*Does not apply to third party SIP phones.
ShoreGear Voice Switches support a Simple NetwManagement Protocol (SNMP) agent, allowingthem to be discovered by any network managemapplication. In addition, ShoreWare Director canconfigured using SNMP features included in theserver operating system, to automatically genera
traps on any event on the ShoreTel UC system.
Easy proactive maintenanceShoreWare Director provides a single-screen vof the entire enterprise system, graphically notifyadministrators of the performance of all keycomponents, at all times. Using icons and greeyellow and red indicators, the administrator caquickly take action when required.
For fast, 24-hour response, ShoreWare Directoalso delivers e-mail warnings to one or moreaddresses. Because ShoreTel intelligence isdistributed throughout the system, if one devifails, the others automatically compensate, assuring optimal performance 24x7.
Manage your toll and WAN usageShoreWare Director provides centralized Call DReporting (CDR) for multilocation enterprises.Rather than having to support multiple disparaCDR databases and their inherently complexdata, the ShoreWare CDR spans all locations.
With both standard and customizable reportinavailable, ShoreWare Director enables theadministrator to spot under-utilized trunks. Thi
helps reduce service provider feeds, as well astrack network performance across WAN links. The ShoreWare CDR service also generatescall records into a text file for use by third-partcall accounting packages.
Online documentationShoreWare Director provides searchable onlinedocumentation for quick and easy answers.Resources include a complete administrationguide, and installation and user documentation

Integrated software distributionThe ShoreTel UC system also provides integratedsoftware distribution for voice switches, IP telephones, servers and desktop applications, thereby reducingsupport overhead and ensuring the system is alwaysrunning optimally. New users can be added inseconds from anywhere on the network.
Ease of administrationThrough one Web browser, the administrator can
manage all sites including the PBX, voicemail, automated attendant and desktop applications.ShoreWare Director is hosted on the main voiceapplication server and pushes Web pages out to thesystem administrator. When a new user is added, forinstance, the system administrator simply clicks addnew, enters the users first and last name and hits save. The management software automatically updates thecentralized databaseallowing for easy backupproceduresand the change is propagated to eachand every voice switch. The system then automaticallycreates the mailbox, updates the automated attendantdial-by-name and number, and online directories. Theuser even automatically receives an e-mail with a URL
to download the desktop productivity application.
